About Me

    About Me

There is an interesting dynamic about people and that is no matter how carefully I craft something in order to minimalize interpretation but read as it is intended, things seem to get lost in translation. I am pretty easy to figure out in that I mean what I say and say what I mean, there is no hidden agenda and don't beat about the bush. What you see is what you get. I am honest, have much integrity and despite the hurts from others, I still believe there are good, honest people. And because I have been forgiven, though it is hard at times, I strive to forgive others AND myself for my shortfallings. I am a work in progress and make no apologies for it as each day is a daily struggle and victory. I also love and appreciate the beauty in nature. Not much better than being in a place where there is pure silence, PURE. No ambient noise, nothing. That rich quiet. Awesome!

    Education

    a lot, 2009

    Music

classic R&B, classic & contemporary worship, piano; favorite CD is original soundtrack from the movie "Somewhere in Time"; Hymns; Michael Crawford's "Love Songs"; Christmas carols

    TV Shows

My interests vary and so does my television viewing. Presently, I am a fan of Lost given its origins were so sketchy that it is fascinating to see what the writers come up with next. I enjoy the History channel sans Hitler documentaries, IFC (minimal sex/violence, nothing with Gore, Al or otherwise), Project Runway, and the original Kung Fu

    Movies

In no particular order: Somewhere in Time, Terms of Endearment, Glory, Gettysberg, Planet Earth series for the extraordinary cinematography, Gentlemen's Agreement, Call Northside 777, Meet John Doe, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Desk Set, To Kill a Mockingbird, Saving Private Ryan

    Books

The Bible stands out of the fav book of all time; anything by Corrie Ten Book, favorite by her is My Father's House; the DSM in order to help me understand others; unabridged Dictionary

    Quotes

"do not judge man by his worst moments but by his best"
"judge ye not lest ye be judged" (the irony isn't lost on me, because try as we might, we make judgments daily)
I have a notebook of quotes from books that I've read over the years which have inspired me, but in the recent move it has been temporarily misplaced
