About Me
Just a note to those who want to "be friends" I don't play that; if you stay in touch, leave comments that support me on my threads, add personal notes that are neither overly flattering nor negative on this page, that's what friends do.
I love convertibles; have had everything from "VW Bugs" to MG's; I own a Solara now, and plan to own a Hybrid hardtop convertible When I retire in '12. I have a pool home on a Lake, but hope to find a place on the Ocean...am looking on Florida’s West Coast close to where sis lives (miss having a Sailboat, and power-boating out to good fishing holes.)
I love sailing; have owned a Cat as well as a 30 foot Hunter (that 1 cylinder diesel in that ship was the thing that ended our relationship!) and go on sailing cruises whenever possible. I’ve been on 3 Windjammer cruises, would like to try the Star Clippers or Windstar; if you've been on either let me know what you thought. Have taken up Golf again...but not regularly. I miss having a good tennis partner.
My favorite local travel includes the Everglades, Key Biscayne, and Pennekamp, which are three great parks in the neighborhood. For more "touristy" things, we can check out Coral Castle (very romantic), Schnebly winery (Their Passion fruit wine's amazing!) and of course there's the White Lion restaurant. Google it to find the menu; excellent.
I should add that I've been divorced since 05, in a relationship until recently (this summer), finally not communicating with her, and moving on from that. Not ready to restart yet, but will be there soon. I love women, but need to get my priorities in order.

TV Shows
Public TV, Discover channels, science, fitness channels, Turner classic movies.
Movies
Love to watch a variety at home, mostly of the Sit-com, "date"-romantic movie genre. Loved Benjamin Button, recent classic "Contact", and oldie "Key Largo". Hate going out to the movies; too much noise, cell phones going off...and after I watched "Outbreak" when they showed how that fatal disease became airborne in a theater I said...uh-uh...never again!
Books
Jimmy Buffett's books, Dave Barry, Carl Hiassen, Carl Brown's series, and recently have re-opened (now that I have time this summer) "Dr Tatianas Sex Advice to All Creation; funny as well as shocking stuff about sexual behavior in creatures.
Quotes
One that I teach by is Edison's "genius is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration" and one that makes me reflect on the world situation is Malthus's "As the Quantity of Life goes up the Quality of Life Goes down". Two of my favorites about relationships are from Ken Keyes (deceased); "Make all of your "must-haves" (he called them "addictions") in to preferences" so you can reach that unconditional love with your mate, and if, after trying peacefully and lovingly to make it work and it seems it's not? "Hold on tightly, but Let go Lightly"- say goodbye, move on with a smile on your face, respect in your heart, and you'll be a better person.
