Hi Everyone -

My Name is Kelly and I'm 33 years old. I've been single now for a little while and would love to meet that special someone. I have a beautiful 9 year old daughter. Due to complications at birth she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She is a specail girl who has opened so many new doors in my life that have been amazing. I was excited when I found this message board on eharmony. I look forward to chatting with you all.

Hi Kelly, I found this site last week and like you and am excited to correspond with other parents with special needs kids. I have two kids at home, 9 year-old daughter Serena and 14 year-old Garrett, both born addicted to Heroin, meth and alcohol. I adopted my kids about 8 years ago and ten years ago if someone had said I would be where I am now I would have called them crazy. Having what I have now I would not trade for anything and meeting people on this site has really been exciting and it has only been a week. I really think contributing to the site is what helps me everyday and I look forward to hearing about how you and your daughter are doing. The great thing here is you can share the bumps in the road both good and challenging and you will have kindred spirits along the way to help you smooth out your journey. This might sound a bit silly but there is a guy out there who will wrap his arms around both of you as you both so well deserve.
Don

Hi Don -

Thanks for writing. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. You are a very special person to have taken on the responisibility with your two children like you did. What affects has the addictions had on them? My daughter and I are doing wonderful. I know that the right person is out there who will fit in our life perfectly and vice versa.

Hi Kelly, welcome to the group. The people here are really friendly and supportive. I found this site shortly after I separated from my ex about 4 months ago and went searching to find what support was out there. I have a 11yr old daughter with Aspergers and she is such a blessing in my life.
