Actually, not. It started out that way but dropped the Christian stuff after a while. Check it out it's interesting! Unitarian Universalism. (For an introduction : Unitarian Universalism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

You should like it, Dennis. Given its mission statement, it counts to me as a "responsible religion". In fact, it pretty much addresses all your points (community, etc.), without committing anyone to a specific faith. The basic principles are purely moral ("affirm and promote the dignity of every person") and don't reference a "god" at all, so even atheists are welcome apparently.

Although he seems a bit cagey re: his specific "druthers", am not so sure that the "beliefs" bother DW, as much as anything "organized" does (i.e. "religion) . I suspect it's more like Comedian's assessment, that Dennis is really only gonna be satisfied with a "cult of one".

OK, Koolaid anyone...?

I have often thought I should start up some new religion to make money,,, there are so many gulible people in the world I could find a rock in the shape of Jesus and say that I have found the lord in this rock and he spoke to me...... It has happened before, and how many dumb ass people out there believe this crap,,,I could make a fortune,,,, Tell a good story about a normal guy who just lived a decent life add a few twists and turns and make it a bit more interesting and call it the bible,,Belief in ourselves is what is needed in this world, to make choices for ourselves and not to be lead around by the nose being dictated to.

A decade-old toasted cheese sandwich said to bear an image of the Virgin Mary has sold on the eBay auction website for $28,000.


An internet casino confirmed it had purchased the sandwich, saying it had become a "part of pop culture".

Goldenpalace.com says it will take the sandwich on world tour before selling it and donating the money to charity.

Diane Duyser, from Florida, says the sandwich has never gone mouldy since she made it 10 years ago.

BTW, if I join your "cult" there, DW, do I get to interview the (female) "groupies"...?

That's exactly what L. Ron Hubbard did when he created Scientology. He was a science fiction author not a great prophet. But Scientology makes a great profit!
