If love means to accept (that her feelings are ok and don't need to be questioned, analyzed, or critiqued) and respect means to revere (that his word is right, has credibility) then I think I'd pretty much agree with that.
Works for me. But he also has to think I'm smart, pretty, funny, intriguing, loving and that the burned parts of the food are supposed to be there.
