I'm as Saul calls it; a rockstar lately. My profile is featured and I've got 72 messages from complete strangers saying anything from how beautfiul I am to will I please marry their brother so he can stay in the country.

Ummmk.

I never knew what a hassle it is for featured profiles.

Any of you got crazy stories, too? I'm sure you do. Come on; make me giggle; I'm working 8 days straight; mixed closing with working bright and early the next day throughout; so I need the boost. LOL

Every rock star needs a Roadie!!
Now I am a curious girl....
How long are you featured? A month?
Does EH need your permission to do this?
Are only paying members featured?
These 70 + are they lurkers or paying members?

CGirl, you don't like being popular? It's because you have that sweet angelic face.

Can you ask Lori to let you off? Would it help to change your avatar to a non-face? Or maybe a funny face picture, like the one hoggie uses occasionally?

I don't blame you. Too Much!

Hey CG,

I was once proposed to by another woman. Yes, I do not jest. It was the most uncomfortable phone call I've experienced. It went like this.

The caller was the mother of one of my friends and she opened the conversation with:

'Hi Meri, this is X calling. How are you today sweetie? Oh good - yes, I'm well myself thank you. Anyway, I'm just calling to see if you've ever considered marriage?'

I was completely gob-smacked by this last question.

Then she went into this story about a single man who was in need of a wife, because he had two children in the DOCS system and he needed a wife to be at home full-time so he could get his children back home. This was put to me as the mother was out of the picture and he only had made babies with her because one night she was upset and 'he ended up helping her a bit too much'. WTH?

'So Meri, how about it? You think you could marry this guy and give his children a nice, loving home?'

No, I had not met the man concerned. I declined.

Meri.

PS I have never told this to anyone before - enjoy.

Aww, CG! I'm sorry you've been having to deal with all of this. That's why I never filled out the "Interests" and "More About Me" sections on my profile. That, and I don't usually keep my picture up for long (when I do put one up).

I just get the guys who tell me I look just like Marilyn Monroe. Really???

What I find fun is, when I do get the random Hi Beautiful message from a guy, I go to their page and see who else got the exact same message from him!

I did get one from a guy I had never even heard of who said he wanted to meet me at a local casino. And you are...whom? He gave me his phone number. 4 times. And not in a PM.

I know your frustration. Got the same type of messages when they decided to feature my profile and...no, Hoggie, they don't ask your permission first, which I was quite surprised by. If they ever do that to me again, I'm PMing Lori to get it taken off. It's very annoying. Even until recently I still get requests to be friends with people I don't know. I don't think so.
