Does anyone ever feel like God has forced your hand in something you should change about your life?

I need to lose a few pounds. And I have lost a whole size since August. But not on purpose. First I was very upset about something and I couldn't eat. Then last week I contracted a very bad case of Strep Throat with blisters. Naturally I couldn't eat much again.

So, I'm thinking is God behind this? Is this what it takes for God to get me to be in better shape?

Just wondering.....

I guess if God wants you to starve yourself, He'll make sure you do it........okay, you do realize that's a tongue in cheek answer?

Tongue in cheek sounds better than blisters in throat.

I figured it was God telling me I was spending too much time online when my dog chewed my computer's power supply cord not once, but twice. Some of us are slow learners...

I don't believe God causes bad things (like illness) to happen, but that doesn't mean God can't use them, js. Congrats on the weight loss, and hope you feel better very soon.

However, who am I to say how God communicates with animals? k9force's power cord may be another matter entirely.

I like to think that the grace of God is available to all of us - is potentially in all of us...maybe not psycho or sociopaths...- so congrats on losing weight even though the circumstances are not ideal. Maybe it's enough to get you moving/inspired?

Once I prayed for something very specific. The next day it fell into my lap. Did God do it? I don't know. I do know what I needed came to me through no effort on my part, just when I needed it most.

I always believed my second husband was a gift from God. I believe God was smiling down on me the day we met.

My personal belief is that God presents us with opportunities. We either seize those opportunities, or we pass them by.

We make the best of things, or we don't. Our choice.

For myself, once I deliberately choose to make that lemonade, I feel better. It certainly lightens the load. And I always land on my feet.

Wow! Did I just get too serious for CSC? Maybe I need a dog with a lampshade on its head, instead of a cat that doesn't understand time changes, and why she has to wait another hour for breakfast.....

WOW!

It was so much fun to wake up and read everyone's responses. I was thinking this thread might drop like a hot rock. Glad I was wrong!

Ah, Winnie, please don't mention my cheek where the tongue and throat can hear you. I don't want the rest of my mouth getting any ideas.

Peg, you are so right. So far, so good.

That's great, k9force.
My Priscilla chomped through the phone cord when she was a puppy. Severed a conversation I was having with the dentist's office. She only did it once. Unlike me, she is a quick learner.
