I don't believe God causes bad things (like illness) to happen, but that doesn't mean God can't use them, js. Congrats on the weight loss, and hope you feel better very soon.

However, who am I to say how God communicates with animals? k9force's power cord may be another matter entirely.
I agree, Grace.
But who is to say that what we think is bad, God does not? I think troubles and problems are bad. As you say, God uses all for our good.

As a matter of fact it has, TM2 !

I didn't think Timeless could increase her high rpms. But she has!

I think the universe creates opportunities for us...
I doubt "God" "smote" you to force you to lose weight...
sounds like you are getting subtle hints to take care of your self and be healthy...
congrats on the progress!

It is funny how we interpret various events.

God doesn't generally hint to me about things He wants different in my life.

His M.O. for me is usually something akin to foreclosure. A door doesn't merely close, it SLAMS ! Obviously, God has to make things very clear for me!

Dog once told me to do something but it involved chasing a ball, so I suspect it was not without self-interest on his part.

Hope you feel better soon. Congrats on the weight loss.

Thanks everyone!
Looking forward to wearing my pretty clothes again!

Maybe I won't have to ride elevators alone anymore. You know, the fire marshal's ton-age limit! Ditch my extra large shower curtain, too.

JS, you do know that all I want is your wellbeing. You are one special lady that needs taking care of and I hope you realize how precious you have become for me. So, if I say something I shouldn't let me have it. You have picked me up with your phone calls a few times and I can take it if I'm a smuck. Just let me know.
