So how does one refer to a boyfriend who might be 'my man' without being 'my husband'? Or is dating before marriage not linguisttically permitted?
LOL, we do have a word for a boyfriend, "kaereste" (sweetheart).

I have a habit of calling everyone I meet Sweetie. ( Friends/ kids / male / female / guests ) That has gotten me into trouble more than once with someone while dating. Then I refer to them as MY sweetie ! clear as mud is right!!

Can you teach me this? I truly need to know how.

If the Apocalypse comes and we are back to survivalism, I think I'll be one of the first to go.
Probably not, if you're as tender-hearted as you say. I am not burdened with an overabundance of sensitivity that way - in a way that hinders my survival instinct, that is. But, if you'd like, when the Apocalypse comes, you can hang out at my house and I'll make sure all the food magically appears on the table without you having to witness its demise...how's that?

Can't call it tenderhearted. Is just plain stoopid, IMO. I like to eat the little fellas, just can't make them get to the plate.

Thanks for the invite! I'll contribute veggies--can't hear them cry.

(and rogerlee, why'd ya have to go and make me remember Brown 25?)
