Sounds like a great idea to me! At my sister & brother-in-law's rehearsal dinner, they served a Mexican menu....complete with a pinata. It was lots of fun!

I absolutely LOVE that idea!

(NOT the idea of getting married a 3rd time , but just the idea of having a wedding at a car show...)
A car show wedding....Something about this makes me think that Pamela Anderson would pop out the top of the wedding cake.

Great idea Grace, including pasta or serving it as the main course is pretty standard fare in my neck of the woods.

I say do what makes you happy...if you like the venue & the food & you're paying for it, so what if your mom thinks it's a weird place for a reception? It's your day, do it your way!

Grace, I always fondly remember the things people do at a wedding that are different from what everybody else does. If you can have a great meal that might be different from the standard wedding fare in your area, that will help make your wedding even more memorable to those who attend. I say go for it if you already know the catering is going to be everything you want for your wedding.

I come from a city with a very high percentage of Italian immigrants (my dad's side of the family included), so Italian food at weddings is actually the norm for the area, not a strange alternative.

Ohhhh Grace! I found you a wedding singer!!!!

This is awful!!! He doesn't even know the words. It kind of reminds me of the Mr. Bean skit where Mr. Bean is in church and is singing a hymn but all he knows is the chorus of Allelluia.

Italian wedding soup....
Italian cream cake...
meatball pyramid centerpieces
pictures of the loving couple slurping each end of a piece of spaghetti as they move closer for the kiss (a la disneys' "Lady and the Tramp")
pepperoncini puns
cannoli cannoodling

who could object to that???

have a blessed, bright and beautiful day, Grace....
