You'll be fine Harry and we'll all be praying for you. Just think how comfortable you'll be once you've recuped, no more kidney stone aggravation. I'm sending my love to you man, you're a sweet guy and here's hoping and praying you'll be in good hands.

You really find out who your friends are when the chips are down. I've found things always go much better than I feared they would. Best of luck tomorrow. As everyone has said, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

So, my kidney stone surgery is tomorrow. Originally, it was to be regional anesthesia and I would be able to drive myself to and from the Hospital after a few hours of recovery. Then my Urologist, discovered an "abnormality" with one of my tubes and changes everything last minute to general anesthesia and no driving.

Well...that stunk. I live in the country and have no friends that live near me. The ones I do have would not be able to get away from work to give me a lift. So, it looked like a night in the Hospital lobby for me. I happened to mention my aggravation to some coworkers and then left to teach class.

Well....when class was over, my co-workers (who I never thought cared one way or another for me) had arranged a 5:00 am pickup for me and at least 2 people who said that they would be on call for whenever I was ready to go home. Shocked is an understatement.

So, assuming that I survive the surgery-and I should (fingers crossed)-I have many a Thank You card to write. I just wanted to share with fellow CSCers simply to say that nice deeds and good people really do exist in our world.

Keep your faith in Mankind.
prayin for ya Harry! Suffering for many years with kidney stones, I know your pain. Thankfully I have not had to deal with surgery, but my stones are the nice little barbed ones and once one comes loose, my body decides it must go, right now. Usually get an ER trip, oft times in an ambulance, get their cocktail of morphine, oxycontin, valium and one other I usually pass out before hearing...and the stone passes in about an hour (when the docs say, 48 to 72 is usual).

You're more loved than you know!!!
and you'd better call me...
As I write this, you're probably in hospital already but know that you are in my thoughts, Harry. As Fruita said, you've been dealing with this for far too long so I'm glad that the healing can begin properly now.

And yes, call or text or something.

Love and hugs. T x
