My friend isn't having much luck with hers, but I have way more shade and better dirt. I'm hoping this one will rock out for me. My plain old variegateds do well, but they'd probably do better if I'd quit digging them up and moving them, lol. (I think they might even get moved one more time before it's all said and done.) You'd have to see the yard to understand my pain. It's....um.....well....horrifying. There are cedar roots everywhere from the 4 huge trees so you can't dig there or there or there. Wisteria sends its nasty little tendrils everywhere and I trip over them. There are trees that really need to come out, but I can't get to them. I have 4 or 5 crepe myrtles that never bloom because they never get any sun so they're just in my way. *sigh*

Fino, let me know when I can plan a trip. I'll help dig out daylillies, which I love and would love more of ... and maybe I can steal some plants.

Huzzie will bring hoe.

I don't do vegetables. But I am gonna do some tomatoes this year. Nobody had any roadside stands last year because of the draught!!! But I water everything all day every day (shame on me, I know, but it's MY well, dammit). But if I don't get a fresh juicy tomato soon, I'm gonna have to hurt somebody.

Wow Fino. That sounds beautiful! I envy you. I had a big rose garden when I was married. 20 + rose bushes and various other plants. My yard is too small to grow anything of significance now though. Definitely post some pictures when it all blooms.

Oh Fino, that's so beautiful!!! For several years I used to have a vegetable garden in my back yard... planted tomatoes, green beans, and corn on cob. Nothing beats walking out there to pick fresh veggies and cooking it. Once, I had some spectacular veggies, couldn't figure out why they grew so well that time...quite a few years later I found out why they grew so well. The garden was planted on top of the drainfield. Great fertilizer indeed.
