I'd tell them to always remember that I'm not your mother, and probably won't do things (cook, clean, etc. ) the same as your mother does but please let me be me then you decide if you like the way I do things.

To your question Outlaw...I would tell online men that not all women are looking for an LTR, nor are all women running around with 'proving lists'...asking for IRS statements on first dates...or judging men by the car he drives or amount od degrees he has (or does not have!).

Some of us are mellow and calm-headed about dating, and follow a man's stance (some men)on dating that not everyone we meet should be looked at as relationship material. Some of us are content to be adventurous, and let common sense be the golden rule...rather than listening to what 'relationship-pundits' tell us in the media and magazines we should be doing.

Furthermore, not all women 45 and over are burnt-out shrews...always trying to judge the next man based on the past. Some of us know how to let the past go and just RELAX and ENJOY the idea of meeting new people and socializing with the opposite s e x. We do not wear a SuperWoman suit that spells the words "strong" and independent across our chest..because we know that real men willrecognize our character and what we are made of.We also know how to be soft and cuddly and canlet a man know he is very much needed, despite how strong we have to be in out secular lives.

If in our 'dating travels' we happen to meet a man that is a right fit for whatever our needs are at the moment, we can settle down and sit still long enough to enjoy the moment, and not spend wasteful time kevetching about little things (nitpicking I call it)that really have nothing to do with happiness and completeness with a man.

Just my $0.02....

Thanks Cruising...I had to get that off my chest. Sometimes when I read some of the things people worry about on the eha threads, and reasons for choosing a mate, I want to scream!

But...to each his/her own!
