I know this was directed towards guys, but I gotta add my two cents.

I actually think going totally bare is a turn-off. I mean, hair is what separates adults from children. And when guys (and chicks) get turned on by genetalia resembling that of 10 year olds, it creeps me out.

I'm all for good grooming, including trimming, waxing, etc, but being as bare as the day you were born just doesn't seem right.

Mab...was your ex hairy? You should have told him you'd wax yours if he waxed his!
+1 Bare has always struck me as just plain unnatural. It wouldn't be a deal breaker but I prefer women who keep most of their natural hair down there. Besides, the chin-tickle can be a nice appetizer/aphrodisiac.

Now if one had the Don King head look down there (ever see an early nude of Madonna) some trimming is in order. Otherwise, it's perfect just the way it is

 On that note - silky, smooth, barelegs are also unnatural. Or do you prefer hairy legs as well?

I don't really care what the general consensus is, among guys.I have no use for hair anywhere except my head. I get waxed/sugared regularly . If any guy has a problem with that, he's not the guy for me.

The sexiest women that I know (personally - friends) get Brazilians .Two of my girlfriends even get theirs done at the same salon that I do. Yes, I also have friends who do-not/would-notdo this... and coincidentally,as much as I love them, these are not women that I consider to be sexy.

I DISAGREE with the opinion that guys, who likesilky smooth skin, arePERVES who are attracted to children. That's absurd! Not that creepy perves don't exist... there are plenty of creeps & pedophiles. However - no amount of hair-removal is going to make an adult seem like a child to these creeps.

Besides - a Brazilian doesn't have to be 100% bare. There can be a little something/something left... a little "landing strip" or triangle (so there goes the prepubescent child theory). Just so all hair is removed from the crucial areas... you know... areas where it interferes with activities and pleasure. And areas where it is most unsightly.

Most women shave/wax their legs, don't they? Why stop there? If its so unnatural to have a silky smoothe 'smookie' then... its just as unnatural to have silky smoothe legs, armpits, arms. Its unnatural to style your hair, groom your eyebrows, wear make-up, etc.

Now that I've spouted off my un solicited opinion on hair removal  back to the ORIGINAL POST :
That guy seems like kind of a jerk. Somewhat of an odd reason to break up with you... but what I find even more odd is, the fact that you had to ask why he broke it off. When someone ends things, isn't it basic common courtesy to offer an explanation???

And he wanted you to "shave"???? Shaving = razor stubble. But that's beside the point. That all being said, it seems like it would be a good idea for people to be aware of each other's 'grooming habits' before getting nekkid together. Especially for those people who feel so strongly, one way or the other.
I didn't say guys who like silky smooth skin are pervs who are attracted to children. I just think it's creepy if men (or women for that matter) think there's something wrong with the existence of pubic hair. If you get waxed because that's what you prefer, good for you. That's your choice.

The guy this post was about said it wasn't natural for women to have hair there. Well, on the contrary...it is natural. And while everyone is entitled to their own opinions and preferences, no one should feel obligated to do something as personal as getting a wax job to please his/her partner who isn't willing to compromise.

And by the way, there are perverts out there who like the bare look, specifically because it does remind them of children. That's a fact.

And I don't recall having addressed you in my post. Your comment simply reminded me of many other comments I've read, at this site, regarding this matter. Some people have even gone so far as to claim that "most" guys, who prefer hairlessness, do so because they prefer prepubescent children.

BellaDonna25 wrote :

I'm not trying to convince anyone to do the same. The OP asked for guys' opinions on hair/hairlessness... and she asked the women if they would shave for a guy. I specified my personal preference to make the point that itis MY personal preference... and thatANY guy, who has an issue with it, is not the guy for me. I would also feel the same way if my preference were tokeep hair.

BellaDonna25 wrote :

Agreed. That was an idiotic thing for him to say. And from what I gathered, it doesn't seem to be the only thing amiss about this guy.

Agreed again. I don't think anyone should do anything that makes him/her uncomfortable just to please a partner. Nor should anyone expect or pressure his/her partner to do such things.

I realize that there have been some studies/research in this area, which suggest this to be fact. However, I have no idea how extensive/conclusive these studies have been. While I'm not 100% convinced that this is a fact... I certainly would not argue with it. I have no problem believing it - none whatsoever. It wouldn't surprise me if there were even a few amongst us, right here in this forum... not that they'd be likely to admit it. There are all kinds of perverts with all kinds of preferences, in any given genre. But I am 100% convinced that these creeps do not make up the majority (or even a significant percentage) of men who prefer hairlessness.

I would research it further, myself, but I can't stand pedophiles (or child abusers of any kind, even if its nonsexual in nature). I can only stomache so much without getting sick. I think they should all be strung up by their bits.

Ah, well, call me old-fashioned, but I sort of miss the days before porn became mainstreamed and women did not shave themselves. I also think Belladonna has a point, and, if I were a woman, I would question the concern of any man who insisited on the whole shaved-cat deal.

Shaving that area sounds really uncomfortable, and I can't imagine how uncomfortable if you get an ingrown hair! That said, I wouldn't shave or completely wax for a guy either. I'd be completely willing to grow it out or clean it up further if he preferred that, but I don't think I could go bare. Maybe this is an age difference thing - a generation younger seems a lot more willing and the men a lot more expectant of it.

I will also ask, what about men shaving down there? Do any of you women have a preference?

I prefer her to be shaved and if not, trimmed so it's pretty clean. I try to keep myself trimmed. I've never shaved myself down there though.
