The first time a white girl came on to me I was so shocked I went to the one the person that gives me the best advice: My dad. He told me that it's so hard to find someone that will truly love you that you shouldn't limit yourself to race, when the color of our skin is only temporary in the first place! Even though she broke my heart, I learned a valuable lesson from all of it: I Love Women!!!!

I'm white. Well, that's what the box I check when asked my race. That's the color of my skin, but really, like many of us, I'm mixed. I'm roughly 60% Euro-Celtic, 30% American Indian and 10% Other (most of that being Jamaican). Black men have been attracted to me all my life with many assuming I was 'high yellow' long before I knew I was anything more than Euro-Celtic. Nobody in my family has married outside of our race or dated except for my sister and myself. She was married to an American Indian who was half white, and I have dated at least 1/2 dozen black men. I never thought twice about telling my mother that I was dating blacks, and it didn't seem to bother her that I was. I really think all she cares about, as any mother should, is that he treats me right. That's all I would be concerned about for daughter. All that being said, even if my mother didn't approve, it wouldn't matter to me. I spent too many years worry about what others wanted and thought at the expense of my own happiness. Now I do me. If doing me means being in an interracial relationship without the support of my family, so-be-it.

Mom yes, Step da never (mainly because to me he seems racist i dont know why tho).. However in your situation, if your friends or family cant deal with who you are dating BECAUSE of their race, don't let it influence you to not date that person.. if they cant accept that even in the long run (hate to sound drastic ) but you'd have to leave thm to their opinons.
