I've been hearing buzzing for awhile about people starting up Christian nightclubs and I wanted to get your thoughts on this. In my opinion, yes it would be great to have a place where Christians and those seeking Christ can meet outside of church and enjoy themselves without the world's foolish ruining it. But, aren't nightclubs just a bit too worldly? From my lost days, the only reason I went to clubs were to get drunk and try to at least leave with a girl's phone number! Seving alcohol is out, but the ultimate question is what would they do to keep the "wolves in sheep's clothing" out! The main reason I'm having trouble with this is I am an aspiring Christian rap artist and the only reason I'm down to do this is because The Lord Himself told me I could do this for Him as He created music so that it could be used to worship Him, but Christian... nightclubs? I don't know...

I think it is a great idea. And instead of serving vodka and cranberry juice there would be sprite and cranberry juice. Keeping people who aren't Christain out shouldn't be too hard because they would be looking to get drunk and get numbers, but there wouldn't be any alcohol and the atmosphere would make them uncomfortable after so long and they would probably leave and not come back.

True... Me and my sister were even discussing this a few months ago because I've always had my own design for a club like this, I just have always had reservations about it because it seems too worldly.

How would it seem worldly. Most of the time when I hung out with my friends from church it was at church. Most of the time we hung out outside of church it semed to be different variations of the same thing. I think having a nightclub would add something new and fun for people, especailly the younger crowd. And not to make this idea sound worldly, but it would also give Christain singles a place to have a chance to form a deeper relationship with someone and not have the pressures of having to do anything immorral. Just a place to talk and have fun.

I am having an arduous time envisioning a nightclub for Christian singles. I don't mind dancing to the music, but I stillthink ofnightclubs as a placewhere substance abusers and rowdy women like to hang out. I shy away from nightclubs because of my reflections of how my older sister got involved with men who were substance abusers and leading her on a path of self-destruction.

I've seen some of these "Christian" gatherings and the whole wolves in sheeps clothing issue is REAL. Don't assume that because there is no liqour, drugs or suggestive music that the snake can't operate. The garden of Eden was pure, but the serpent still wreaked havoc. The snake (male and female)knows how to act and talk Christian. Even God thought him beautiful 2 hrs before he fell! He doesn't have to rungame like a wordly club dog, he just has to whisper a little doubt.

Most people who come to these clubs are baby Christians with a littlte of the world still clinging. That's why they're attracted to a "club"in the first place. They hear the hot gosple track, but still dance to it like it's 50 Cent. I don't know too many men Christian or not that can stand up to too much rump shakin'.Are we causing our brothers and sisters to stumble? Are we awakening something in their spirit that is not completely submitted to the Holy Ghost? If God gives you a go J, go for it. But, proceed with prayer and caution as I know you will.

If churches held more singles events and weren't so insular about who could come, this wouldn't be an issue.

one issue is you seem to be suggesting that the club should be christian in wolves clothing, to the extent that you are using mixed drinks that mimic those you enjoy in a 'real' club.

another is honestly who teaches commonsense? believe it or not, many people would think that every one who goes there is a fine upstanding christian, who am i to say that an upstanding christian is wrong if they say i should try this little pill? and you know its like she says, its not a sin if we just....

honestly if you want to hang out with your friends not hopping to pick up girls, do you really go to nightclubs? the whole look and feel would probably have to be altered, at least when one considers most clubs. the music would have to be quiet enough to allow for conversation, and the lighting a bit better. then you have to consider what the 'draw' is for most clubs. mostly its getting hammered and dancing with members of the opposite sex... what exactly is the 'draw' to a christian nightclub? i would more am for a social club, but then the finances become an issue, with out the high mark up on alcohol, how will you finance it?

Thank you HolyGhostGirl, Strawberry123, and j2 for voicing my very fears and concerns! It would be great to have a place where CHRISTIAN singles can meet and fellowship, but nightclubs draw a particular crowd and adhere to a dark and sinful atmosphere. For a place to be truly of God, it would have to be of a completely didn't setup. It's rough just thinking about it!

Well the admitance wouldn't be free. There would be a cover charge, it just wouldn't be like all the other nightclubs out there. And if a "Christain" is going up to other Christains asking if they want to try a pill then either they have lost their way and someone needs to sit down and talk with them about whats going on in their life. If someone did offer a pill, that person on the receiving end should be man/woman enough to say no and stay true to there beliefs. I have been there. I'll admit it, I wasn't man enough and I got into some bad things and I would even do those things before going to church. At that time though I was difinitely lost and didn't care about anything. I didn't even care at the time if I were to die in the next ten minutes.

But yeah, the cover charge and the charge for drinks and if there were to be food. All that should be able to pay for utilities and pay checks for the people working there, unless the workers there were all volunteer.
