OK my lovely Lillies! What do you all think of this ..................


How does a trip to the Magic Castle in Hollywood sound? A friend has sent me passes for entry into the private, members only, MagicCastle in Hollywood. From what I understand this is a very fun and entertaining evening. Also, he has recommended a hotel directly across the street for only about $99 per night.


I thought this might be a fun way to spend another Girls Night Out.


I am definitely going, and would love to have some Lillies along to liven things up a bit. If anyone is interested, please let me know. I will be setting a date and making reservations soon. You can post here or send me a PM.

Sounds very interesting! I had never heard of that before, but it sounds very cool. It is formal attire, though - does that mean I would need to actually shine my cowboy boots?

Yea!!!!!! Just waiting to hear if any weekends DON'T work for one of us. I am completely open. I also thought it might be fun to make a side trip or two in Hollywood if you have any suggestions.

I have heard of The Magic Castle. In fact, when we had the M&G in January, GP was telling us about it. It sounded really awesome. And yes, i do believe it's more of a 'formal attire' place. Not tuxes and ball gowns, but definately suits and evening wear. Sounds like a lot of fun. The only weekend I can't make is the May 15th. I'm heading to Florida for a R&R with some girlfriends.

Woohoo! The Magic Castle is cool -- I was there in 2004. We got reeeeeeeally dressed up, but women can wear 'pantsuits.' Men have to wear a coat and ties. I don't remember the dinner (?!) but the magic shows were fun.


Depending on the cost and weekend (are we thinking Saturday night or Sunday) I'd probably be up for that. That's pretty slick that HBgirl got ahold of the passes -- I know quite a few people who've wanted to go but couldn't because of the invitation-only policy.


Let me know what you decide: if it's not too expensive, I'm OK for the evening of Sat. 5/2, 16 or 30, or Sunday brunch 5/17 or 5/31.

I was thinking a Sat night would be good, then we could tack on Sat. afternoon, or Sun. early for a side trip if we wanted (lunch at a hot spot, or cruising around Hollywood & Vine maybe). Make a weekend out of it instead of just the evening. As for the cost, I am not sure, but my friend says the dinners run around $30. We could have some cocktails in the room before we go so that would save some money. I will find out the door charge and let you all know. I am sure it is minimal though. And once we are in, allwe need to buy is dinner and drinks. All the shows are included.


So, as for a date, it looks like we are down to 5/2 or 5/30. Any thoughts anybody?

A Saturday night sounds good! I have a course Sunday, May 3 which would not conflict, but which would necessitate an early departure Sunday morning to Norwalk.


On May 30th I'm good for the weekend beginning 2PM Saturday. I'm a definite "go" if the costs are about what's been estimated. Should be fun! Thanks HBGirl for inviting us!
