I hear some interest in getting a group together --- I'm game, but want to see what level of interest there is. So, who's in? and then what are some suggestions on where and when.

My only thought on the where is that we should either have it in DT FW or somewhere in Dallas, McKinney area -- I think if we tried to split the difference and had something in Arlington, then no one would come...just my 2 c's.

OK, who's game? ? ?

I'm game.

I just realized I posted on the other thread some ideas I had about what we could do . . .

And so I will reiterate:

Kimbell Musuem has a great Impressionists show right now; have read fantastic reviews.

Dinner together in D-town in style. . .

Cowboys game at Texas Stadium?

Six Flags? (just kidding)

No, really. Six Flags. (It's fun. I go once a year and I revert to the 6 year old in me. LOL!!!)

Dallas Symphony--pricey sometimes but worth it if you save up the dough for a concert.

Rock Concert (Addison, Deep Ellum, Billy Bob's (but only if Willie Nelson is playing, lol) American Airlines Center (Tom Petty played recently, other venues et. al.) Do ya'll remember or know about Edgefest?

Did I mention perhaps a dinner in one of those restaurants that D-Magazine always touts...like NOBU. Has anyone been?

Dallas Musuem of Art (DMA)

That resort in Grapevine...what's it called? Gaylord Texan, I believe? I've heard there's alot to do over there. . .

Or will could go to political rallies or events. . . . . . . but I suppose that would suggest some sort of consensus, huh?

Any other ideas????????

What a great group of ideas! I'm up for any and all as long as we can chat and get to know one another NOBU is fantastic one of my favorites for food and vibe! The Gaylord is great for old hickory ($$$$) wonderful resturant but The Glass Cactus (night club) is awful! Tuscany bar just opened in Gvine and i hear it's really nice with an outside bar upstairs

Cowboy game is super fun But you really are talking pricey unless you have a connection...anyone have a connection? lol

Or Cool River in Las Collinas super fun!

Great ideas! I like the idea of a place where we can chat and get to know each other.

I saw the Modern Art Museum listed in Weekend Dating discussion. They have a wonderful cafe. Beautiful inside and outside seating areas. You can get food or just a glass of wine.

I'm game.....I think. I like the idea of a pub and never could pass up listening to a tight rock n' roll band. McKinney would make for a long trip for folks that live in Dallas. Thanks for the idea. I would recommend planning this for a Friday or Saturday.

yea, I meant McKinney Ave. in Dallas, not McKinney Tx -- haha, that would be really hard for the FW folks! keep going all, this is good. I sorta think a gathering (8.0 in FW or Primo's in Dls) rather than an event, but...I don't really mind either one! excellent ideas!

I'm up to catch a very early flight this morning (too d#mn early) and saw your message, car guy....hahaha.....made me laugh and, trust me, I usually don't feel like laughing this early in the morning. I'm glad you didn't mean McKinney, Texas. I was wondering what the heck could be up there anyway. I agree that a casual gathering would be preferable to an event.

So far, I think 5 have shown an interest, which I think is too few given how easy it is to miss a deal like this, for good reasons. Anyone want to nudge any other north Texans that they know either on the board or not to boost our numbers a little?

I wish I knew how to nudge successfully; it never worked for me on eHarmaony when I did it.

LOL!!!
