A friend of mine calls these "pants victories" because when I was talking about these with him I gave "going down a pants size" as an example of what I meant by non-scale victories.

I'm enjoying one today; down almost two sizes, I'm wearing a pair of pants I haven't fit in, in almost 8 years.

What are some of your favorite or most encouraging non-scale victories?

When I first started my more intense focus on fitness back in April I set a goal to fit into pants that were 31 inch in waist by October 1. Back in July I didn't think I was going to make it, but it looks like it may be close. I'll have to wait and see, but I'm pleased with the progress.

As a point of reference I think I was around a 32 1/2 inch waist when I started.

Nice, Walter!

The other day I bought a pair of pants that was 3 sizes smaller than the ones I wore the day I signed up fort he gym (end of April).

Now, I *think* these pants run big because I have another pair in that size that I can't squeeze into yet -- but whatever, I"m still taking it as a non-scale victory!

Well I can officially get into size 31 waist jeans now. Of course sizes vary and a 31 in one jeans doesn't feel exactly the same as others so in some they fit real good while in a few they're a little snug. I'm planning on losing 3 to 5 more pounds so by the time I reach that goal I'll fit comfortably in any size 31's. I don't like jeans to be tight but to have just a little bit of room in them. So to fully meet that goal I'll have to be an actual 30 1/2 inch waist which shouldn't be a problem if I reach my goal weight. If I can reach my goal weight and size I'll be roughly the same as I was when I was 22.

NICE, WALTER!!!

I'm wearing a NSV right now. Today I fit comfortably into a pair of jeans that I never was able to wear before -- they were the next jeans I was supposed to be shrinking into during my last serious/successful weight-loss effort. Previously I could not even get them to button / zip but today I'm wearing them and they look GOOD.

Congrats It's nice to see the pounds coming off, but I believe it's even nicer to see yourself fitting into clothes better because you know this is what others are seeing.

Thanks! Yes, it feels really good!

I have one more pair of pants to shrink into. I can't even button those now. I'll definitely post here when I'm sitting here at work wearing them!!! This is great b/c now I can see how long it will take!
