Just wanted folks to know that this online thing can work. After nine months of online dating and maybe meeting 20+ interesting women, I have found what I have been looking for!

It's kind of funny, in that I met her before writing her. I had been writing a girl back in January, and we decided to meet at a craft show that I was going to be selling coffee at. She brought her girlfriend along, and the three of us chatted awhile. Afterward, I left for Texas for a vacation and we just exchanged emails once more. No attraction, but a nice lady. I did like her friend, but nothing came of it. A month ago, I emailed a woman I saw online and didn't realize it was the friend of the first girl, but she did.

In the past month, we have gone out about a dozen times and there is a huge attraction between us. Fortunately, she is only 30 miles away. We both decided on our own to leave the other online dating site and I think that this is going to work for the long haul. We really enjoy each other's company, and both of us have the "Can't wait to see you" feeling every day. After losing my wife of 28 years, three years ago, this is quite a great feeling.

I had almost given up on the online dating routine, but persistance has paid off. Time will tell. Hang in there folks. Someone is out there for you.

Bill

Congrats Bill! Don't go too fast, enjoy the beginning of a relationship, it is like enjoying the aroma of coffee...often better and more memorable than the coffee. As a widow after 33 years, I find that older people (like us) come with baggage. If it's not exes, it's troubled children or health problems. Not all the baggage is revealed upfront. But, best of luck.

It does a person good to hear your success!

I had to turn off my own Matches. My husband died Oct 2008. I thought I was ready for eHarmony, but of course I wasn't!

I do like these discussions boards, tho....

Yeah, Bill, that's GREAT, but you didn't actually meet her online, now, did you? But that's still great!
