395 closed matches in one year, 9 to OC, 4 to dates (1 lasted 3 months, but was always checking out other dates.)


I think only a small fraction of the the matches on EH and the other dating sites are really serious about seeking a LTR. The other matches are either not active members, too passive, or just window shopping for the perfect mate. Just like real life!

Agreed nosey. If you have low self esteem then internet dating isn't going to work.


We all need to remember that this is a numbers game. Need to do a lot of looking before you find the one. And I think people lose site of the fact that usually when we find the ONE most people stop looking.


The statistic I wonder about that would be almost impossible to obtain without eh propa getting involved is what percentage the people here at EHA are dissatisfied with EH as opposed to the ones that are on EH and not here at EHA. I am guessing that The members of EHA that are dissatisfied are much higher than on EH but would be interested in some objective numbers.


now back to your original programing and I would like to see the results of the OP's survey.

I have been on eh since March. I average 5 matches a day. I have had 1000+/- matches, currently showing 833 closed (either I have closed or they have closed me). Have 106 matches since end of july that I have not sorted through other than location to me. 20 in my hold page - totally useless feature. I have had 3 face to face dates. One, dated a month we are now closed. The second, we had one date and then he dropped off the face of the earth - I closed him. The third...been dating since the beginning. I am in oc with 5, and 5 others if various stages. Only one of these 10 are close enough for me to actually date, and he has commitment issues.


IDK...what does this say? I think the stats stink, but, where else are we (the 40 somethings) suppose to meet people? I don't do the bar scene, I'm not dead, I want to find love....so I stick with it b/c I am Little Mary Sunshine and I keep telling myself it will happen. It's got too, sooner or later!!!! Right????

It is tough to meet like-minded, single people when the bar scene is not where you want to be. Don't lose faith amaz- It will happen when you least expect it. Until then...keep basking in the sunshine!


I know I don't NEED to find someone, but it sure would be wonderful to have that person to share life's adventures with.





As for my stats....I've only been a member for about 2 weeks ...have 60 closed matches (some like 500 miles away when I want to date locally...) and 1 person in OC.

37 matches in 3 days - closed 18, 5 in communication, but all live far far away from me (other countries)... so the odds on getting a date are a big fat ZERO!! lol


EHarmony is an experiment - one of a few avenues I am trying to meet someone new for a serious relationship....

Too many scammers to count.


I try to open communications with most that have pics and are reasonably close (within 90 minutes to 2 hours), and a few outstanding ones further away or with no pics. Still, I close most after 2 weeks of no response.

I have been on for three years. I met one person for coffee. We had nothing in common and there was no chemistry. I paid for my own coffee, btw.
