Anyone know what the ratio of men to women is on eHarmony, esp in the 40 something age range. Rumor has it that there are a lot more women than men. As a woman, I'm not all that impressed with my matches that are interested in me and the ones that I'm interested in aren't intrested in me. Do the "good" ones have loads of women to choose from? I mean, I thought I was a pretty good catch, until the last couple of months on eH. Now I'm wondering what the heck is wrong with me. Not been a good experience for the ego for sure. Would like to hear from others.

When I was an active member, I got about 400 matches. By my best guess, only about 1/3 of them were active. I initiated communication with about 15, and about 10 initiated with me. I met 3 of them, one twice.

I have read that there are ten women for every one man elsewhere on the boards but don't know if that is true. If it is the guys are having a smorgasboard while we gals are having a drought!

I don't think the 10 to 1 ratio is accurate. I am not that "hot" and I have several men initiate communication with me. Plus, I get a good number of matches. Of course, I set my parameters, and my expectations, very low. Anyone anywhere is my motto!!!

That ratio can't be accurate or I'm fugly as heck. If people are wondering about the 'poofing' factor and lack of responses to matches, it probably has to do with the way eHa matches you to non members that can't communicate. Not cool, but its the way it is on this site.

I am not sure what they ratio is, but when I started with them about three years ago, all I was getting was scammers I quit for a while and the ones now that I have gotten I am not sure about. If your going to pay money to be on this dating service and your "suppost" to be a christian please just have the commond courtsey to say "I'm not interested, or lets visit" but do something. I hate to get matched and they will look at you and never reply one way or another or they won't post a picture. Guess that is just my oppion for what its worth

I believe eharmony is unique in the online dating world in that women do outnumber the men. Eharmony markets with the "find your soul mate" line. This and the privacy has a lot of appeal to women. If you want a site where the ratio is reversed try match or yahoo.

I think there may be a "seasonal" thing going on or something as far as quantity of matches. I have noticed my matches going down, when during the summer I had matches everyday, and my criteria or less restrictive now.

I for one am especially interested in having conversations with like minded people...I "looked" at Match, and it seemed more than half the matches were for a bootie call, and ALL the men seemed to have very very young numbers in the age, not around their age at all.

An especially creepy thing is one of my matches was also a match there, but it was like he had an alternative personality. After I saw that, I immediately deleted my temporary profile, and am glad for the security of him being closed over here and not able to get in touch with me.

I have been registered for 1 month. And I think only around 3-10 out of 200 are aged between 40-45. All other matches that I got are 35-38, or 52+.

My friend said most 40s males are usually happily married and not available. They can only be available after divorced or widowed.

I am getting the feeling it is much more about the Matching than the ratio ! There are lots of men AND women here there is a discouragement factor being matched and getting no reply and also an issue because the "matches"..and the dating pool are a little suspect.. maybe we all need to write better profiles ?
