I met a man who fits my searchcriteria.
He lives about 3 hours away from me.
Over the weekend I met up with him in his hometown.
On the phone ,prior to meeting him he informed me that he has no money to pay for my expenses.
Thaty was fine with me at that point.
Matter of fact I paid for the evening..
Now he says he wants to see me again, but he will not be able to come my way.
So I would have to go up there if I realy want to see him again.
Its about 250 miles away.
He blames the gas prices ect..
Am I so desperate that I need to do that???????????????
Any advice???????????????

Dump the loser...if he isn't at least willing to go 50/50 (does he think gas is free for you??). Why would you go to all the trouble of signing up for this service just to "sett;e" for a guy like this....

That is easy. I live in a rather remote place in Nevada.
I thought I was being cheap cos I thought twice about driving 700 miles (one way) but drove it anyway. It was a first date.
She offered to buy dinner because I came all that way. I let her and felt guilty about it later.
But now I don't feel so guilty.
She was very nice but we did not really hit it off.
Anyway if you feel like you are acting in a desperate way then take a step back and evaluate the situation. Chances are you already know that the guy is a deadbeat and you just need someone to say it is alright to move on.
I say run, do not walk to the nearest exit.

Sweetheart, there's evidence that he's "just not that into you." Kick him to the curb and find someone who thinks you're worth the drive. Or get a cat.

Well now, it appears that it's your call, however I'm incline to lean toward the 50/50 ideal (at the first meeting) that Fit45 mentioned.
But i would say that you have a few things to evaluate here for one your feelings about the relationship. some men (I not being one of them .. lol) like to be kept by a woman, is he one of those?? Also if he is having trouble holding onto cash at this age in Life you might want to do a background check before you invest anymore of your time and effort, just a thought.
Good Luck no mater what you choose.

Hi there,
In my opinion, if this man expects that you are going to visit him all the time and he isn't willing to visit you, he's not worth your time. He sounds like a user, and I would get out sooner than later. I'm sure you can find a nice guy closer to where you live who will appreciate you.

Why?
... Why was that ok with you? (Rhetorical).

Save your money, heart and time...RUN! Times are not THAT hard. If he wanted to see you so badly he'd find a way to get to you. Been there, done that. Its all a game to get what he can out of you. Good luck on your search!
