Hey all! Lately I've been getting "flexible matches." Apparently the type of guy I want doesn't live near me because I've been getting matches in NY, Canada, TX among other places. I live in Alabama. The thing is these guys seem interesting. Has anyone tried a long distance love?

id say it really comes down to 2 factors:
1. commitment
2. patience
all i really hear about LDR's is that both people need to be committed to making it work (or at least trying). and you can think of patience as an off shoot of that. sometimes there are just circumstances that keep someone from communicating (not necessarily another person). \

It is really a bummer to meet the perfect person and know they do not live anywhere near you. I have a good friend who I have thought a few times about trying to pursue a long distance relationship with. She lives in Maryland, is off to Jersey now for school. I am not so sure I would be able to find the time or the money to really have a meaningful relationship with her at this time and neither of us plan on moving and that is reality.

With that said, if you meet a guy who is willing to move or you are willing to move eventually than I say go for it.

I have found that thus far the best relationship I have ever had was a long distance one. we had to spend more time talking and getting to know eachother through open communication. I am actually looking for just that right now, I mean a person that is willing to move or lives in a place that I want to move is a must. all in all I think that a long distance adds a lot to a relationship but it can be hard if you don't have the money to travel.
