I did the eHarmony match quizz and was refused because I put down I was seperated. I have been separated for over 4 years. What's the deal?

eHarmony's Singles service is meant for single people. You are not single. Look up "Why do you not you accept separated members?" in the Help link on the eh homepage.

Yes, EH doesn't allow separated people and many here share that same opinion. If you're still legally married then you are undatable in my book. Try that other popular dating site...they take separated people.

EH has broadened its horizons a bit over the years, but it's still a site that is largely oriented toward committed, long-term relationships (really, it's oriented towards marriange). The basic premise here is that you can't really move on and be "marriage ready" until you've finished closing out the prior marriage.


Look at it this way: You've been separated for four years - why haven't you gotten a divorce? Even if you're working on it, that's a lot of current baggage to ask someone to deal with. Can people deal with it? Of course many can, but it's just a complication EH has decided not to bring into the picture.
