I can say I have met a few of the nice guys, a few of the "scammers" and the one I really thought was the "one" but turns out he thinks we should just be friends. I can tell you ladies, I am 31 years old and never has that kind of chemistry with anyone. I have done his site off and one for a year or so and if I get one more guy that is 5'2" I am going to scream! I am 5"9" and have stated that height is very important to me.
I hope you are not putting down short guys (get it). There are advantages for you. You could put thingson the top shelf so he couldn't reach them. Seriously, I am 5'5" and have been matched with women who are 6'0". Know where my face would be when we slow danced? (not an entirely unpleasant thought) I close them out with "the physical distance between us is too great" LOL

I've been on EH for 3 months, signed up for a year. Only one person has contacted me, apart form that I get "closed".

Have been a paying subscriber on Match.com for 2 years and 7 months. Got a lot of winks and e-mails from guys that turned out to be married, much younger guys in third world countries who just want to get into the country, false profiles, the one's that apparently didn't read in my profile what I was looking forand the ones that just wants s.e.x. I have been ready to throw in the towel many a time but then you don't like to give up either do you? You live in the hope that one day it will happen, that the right one will turn up. When I got divorced I never would have thought that I 6 years laterstill wouldbe single. I guess one of the reasons are that there are so many single women out there that the single men are spoilt for choice, like a kid in a candy store with shelf after shelf of different candy.

I'm so glad I found a bunch of people who are unhappy with the site! I signed on b/c my friend got married to a guy she met on the site. I've been on since mid November, the majority of my matches were in the first 3 months of a YEAR membership (doh!). Once I hit the 3 month mark, my matches dropped off dramatically. In my experience, the majority of the matches were unpaid members, matches who never responded to communication, and out of about 600 matches, I've communicated with about 10, OC with 2, one even off the site, which went no where. Ultimately, I'm disappointed that so many matches seem to just be window shopping like any other dating site. I thought eH was going to be different. When my year is up, I won't be renewing!
I too signed on for three months and then at the end of that when my next three months began I've gotten nothing at all. I've met one match and we've dated, but I don't think he is at all interested in getting to know each other better. I like him and we've had a good times together as far as I'm concerned, but he doesn't take me to dinner, or anywhere. I just joined Match.com for a short time, but get strange emails from guys who live far away and who want me to email them at their private address. And, they are always salesmen and are "willing to move to where their love is." Although I do get some more local matches. The site sort of creeps me out. I think I would rather take my chances and match up with someone in person on my own. If he's out there, I guess I'll find him.

Three years - four disaters - profiles were not real - not sure if it is eharmony's fault, but I think I have had enough.

Yeah, anyway. Do they really read our profiles and read the answers to their questions? I'm tired of this online dating thing and I haven't even been on it for long. I signed up on match.com and think they sent great matches for the first two days, just so I wouldn't cancel during my initial 3 day free period. These guys all gave me winks (ha) but their profiles were not able to be located after the three day period. I won't be renewing on Match.com again. I'm not sure about eHarmony yet. I haven't had any new matches at all since my 2nd three month period began in February.

I guess I'm an odd ball. I've had a great experience with EH thus far. Maybe it's just the demographic I'm in, but it's has worked well for me. Maybe my expectations are different. In my brief two months, I've had three dates, all were good matches. I still "talk" with one, as friends since she's a wonderful person and the other I'm still seeing in a romatic way. I did post pictures of myself and I did fill out my profile completely (I used every charactor allowed LOL). I don't keep my matching on all the time. When I receive matches, I take my time although I do send out questions or close them quickly. I have received 150 matches, I've been closed ~ 10 times, I've closed the rest. Many of my closed matches can be re-opended and in fact I have re-opend several that I thought were non paying memebers. Further, this is my first time at trying the online dating thing. I was married for a lot of years so this is all new to me, I really haven't dated at all until I signed up for EH. Last; I have a family memeber who met someone on EH and will be getting married soon so I know it works. Just be open, be honest and be you... I know easier said then done but keep the faith.

Charger – thank you so much for adding your positive outlook. I’m so happy to know that you are having a good experience – the kind we want for each and every member.

I’m really sorry to read some of these responses here that many of you are frustrated. I know that it’s only natural when you really want to meet the right person and it seems to take forever, or you get a promising match and don’t hear from them.

It can be a common experience for many members to communicate with a few select matches. Although we encourage our members to remain open-minded, communicate with as many matches as possible, and close those who clearly have no potential, many members, even paying members, take a more passive route and let communication “sit”.

It may take a change of mindset to approach eHarmony so that you don’t lose heart. Don’t forget, for example, that this is not a popularity contest; our goal is ultimately to bring you one right person. Many people who have excellent profiles get less communication because they are displaying their unique qualities and specifics about what they want in a life partner. This won’t attract all of the matches to respond, just the right ones.

Looking for someone with whom you can be happyfor your entire life implicitly takes time. If you know that going in, you are less likely to fall into discouragement along the way. Dr. Warren originally created eHarmony to be a year-long process, more or less.

eHarmony provides a way to gain access to more compatible people than you would normally ever have. The investment you make in eHarmony is really just taking that action of “putting yourself out there”. Many Success Stories report that it took a long time – and how worth the wait was to find the right person.

For those of you who aren’t getting what you had hoped for out of the service, please reach out to our Customer Care department by clicking on the Help link on our home page, www.eharmony.com. You can send your message to us there. Our representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are trained to help you gain the most out of your experience.

Wishing everyone the very best,

Kate

I signed up for 3 monthsbut will not renew. I had high hopes for eH. so dissapointed. The steps it take tp close a match is a nightmare. I am closing 98% because they all seen generic. the page design is boring. If I miss a few days I hate to get on because i know it will take all night to close out matches only to have them pile up under closed matches. Would be great if you could drag and drop instead on the seem like 25 step process in place. There should be a requirement that photos be posted, after all this a dating site and we are creatures of visual then heart truth be told.
