Here is version 2. Have at it. Thank you for your thoughts.
First, WELCOME!~ And 2.0 is much better!

The one thing I am most passionate about: Raising my daughter as best as I possibly can, history, architecture, historic preservation, self-improvement, genealogy, leaving a good legacy, and success.

This a bit of a laundry list but not a closer for me. If you are going to say stuff like history I'd like to see specifics, WWII, etc.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is: A positive attitude. Someone who enjoys substantive conversation and who will continue to learn and improve alongside me. A beautiful woman to raise beautiful well-adjusted children with.

AHHH... interesting!

Basic Information

Occupation: Real Estate Age 34 Height 6' 2" Wants Kids: Yes Kids at Home: No (your daughter????)
Ethnicity White, non-Hispanic Religion: Spiritual, but not religious Drinks: Several times a week (this would raise issues to me...if you are a 2x a week guy, I'd scale it back...as it is this reads 5x week) or maybe address in other info ("I like a single cold Sam Adams with dinner each night") Smokes: Never

In my own words

The most influential person in my life has been:

Two people, my daughter came into my life [and inadvertently--could leave out] steered me in a positive direction, and my grandfather who lived through hell in many ways and came out on top of it all.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

  • Being born in the USA in the era of modern medicine
  • Being healthy, sane, and fortunate and the same for most of my family and friends SANE is an odd word...it tends to read that you are judgmental and quick to say who is or isn't nuts based on whether or not they agree with you on politics, etc....
  • Being able to succeed outside of the 9 to 5 box COOL sounding...but I'm not sure what you mean...what are your activities/hobbies that you do in those other hours???
Three of my best life-skills are:

  • Making improvements and repairs around the house
  • Raising and/or caring for children
  • Managing my finances FYI....between the lowe's clearance rack and the cafeteria I get the impression you are pretty tight with money. May or may not be true.....

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

That I am quite sociable outside of work, that I am not quiet for lack of things to say but because the wise man listens, that I have all sorts of opinions but they are only given out on request.

Hmmmm. Really??? No opinion on the election? Sports? Coffee or tea? Religion? I don't buy it. As is, it sounds a bit judgmental to me (like if you talk too much woman I am showing you the door/I'm more wise than you....)....

The things I can't live without are:

  • Foreclosure listings- it's become my livelihood. THIS made me groan although I "get" it.
  • The clearance rack at Lowe's.
  • K&W cafeteria. A soild (spelling) meal for less than $4.
  • A really hot shower.
  • A good mattress.
These are not bad at all.
The first thing people notice about me:

I'm tall, generally quiet, often deep in thought, and almost always working on some task.

Some additional information I want you to know:

I have a 16 year old daughter who is an integral part of my life. I was never married and her mother is completely out of the picture and I haven't seen her for over 15 years. I am with her every day and of course daughter ("she" is vague when in a sentence about 2 females) takes priority in my life, though lately she has been far too cool to hang out with her dad.

My interests

I typically spend my leisure time:

Eating out, especially Mexican, Thai, Italian, and Southern, traveling outside of the country whenever possible, so far I've been to various places in Europe and North and Central America and hope to go everywhere else. Egypt is at the top of the list. Watching comedy and going out for trivia and pool with friends. Taking my daughter to the movies and the beach and teaching her to drive. She also goes along for the travel.

All good.

The last book I read and enjoyed:

I just finished Uncle Tom's Cabin, which I picked on a whim and I was blown away. It might be the best piece of fiction I've ever read, like a great novel and a thesis rolled into one.

According to my friends:

My friends describe me as:

  • Dependable
  • Genuine
  • Intelligent
  • Hard Working

You sound a bit, for better or worse, like a marine. My dad was a marine. Probably a good solid guy but a bit hard headed, not fancy, no-nonsense. That is fine, if that is who you are....just make sure you are presenting yourself (1) accurately and (2) in the best possible framework.

I can't tell if you have any outdoor activities....running, playing softball, hiking, etc.....

Like music? TV? Movies? Can't hurt to add some specifics there...Garth, CSI and action flicks or opera, pbs and silent films.... Lifestyle compatibility is huge.

Best-K

Thank you K,
What, you don't like a good soiled dinner? I agree on the outdoors, movies, TV. Unlike others I have used eH doesn't have a good spot for it. It's like they want you to leave it out.
