Hi everyone, quick question about step 4 of GC. I did the first 3 steps of GC with a match and then I was prompted to read the safety material. Did that. I wrote an email. Now when I click on the mailbox for this match, it says that I should wait for my match to respond.

However, with another match, we did the 3 steps of GC. I have not written an email yet. When I go to the mailbox, there's a big shiny button that I can use to send this match an email, a big shiny button that is not present when I go to the mailbox for the other match.

(I initiated GC with both of these matches, but I am not sure if, once you get through stage 3, the system cares anymore about whose turn it is to write.)

Is it that I can only write one email and then I have to wait for a reply? Or is there a glitch of some kind? Or does the match have to read the safety material to open a communication window or something?

I hope that made sense. I'm just finding the whole thing a little confusing.

You have to wait for your first match to respond before OC (e-mail) is a free for all.

The safety message is something you really only need to read once (IMO) and you probably click a box to not show it to you when you reach OC each time.

Until you send the first OC message to your second match you are sitting in limbo.

Your matches also much read the safety message (but also have the option to bypass it in the future).

Hope this helped and you understand what is going on.

Thanks! If I understand you correctly, once the first 3 stages of GC are done, I can send an email. Once the other person responds to my first email, we're in OC and it's a free for all. Because I initiated GC, I am in the position (due to the way the turn-taking system works) of having to start step 4, and as long as I do not write the first email, my second match is just waiting for me to do something. Do I have it?
