Hello all! I've been a member a month or so and think I've finally got this thing more or less where I want it. I went to NYC with a buddy and took a bunch of nice pics earlier this month so I have ones that are actually just of me and current. I'm used to criticism in my line of work so throw it out there!

Passionate about:
Mostly, about making a difference in people's lives through my design work. I love taking on something head-on and finding the most creative, elegant solution to a complex problem. A problem is almost always the best opportunity for a great solution. Discovering that solution is where my passion lies- between the solid bricks and mortar and the ephemeral world of planning and paper.

Most important in a relationship:
When I went to LCD Soundsystem's last show at MSG back in April, as they were finishing their last song of the encore, white balloons fell from the ceiling into the crowd where I was standing. I got an inexplicable chill up my spine- sort of a powerful surge of happiness, sadness and pure energy all at once. I am looking for someone who would share that feeling with me, and join me in life's adventures.

Basics
Occupation: Architect
Age: 25
Height: 5' 10"
Wants Kids: Yes
Kids at Home: No
Ethnicity: White, non-Hispanic
Religion: Christian
Drinks: About once a week
Smokes: Never

Most Influential:
Its funny sometimes how when you look back on your formative years, you can see how people who seemed to play a relatively minor role wound up shaping your life in more ways than you could imagine at the time. My high school geometry teacher was just such an individual- he showed me that learning about squares and rhombi could transcend just looking at lines on paper and be beautiful, simple and elegant. As I was going through design school and even now in my professional life, I still think back to the lessons I learned in that classroom.

Most Thankful:
My education
Having a good job and a reason to get out of bed in the morning.
The roof over my head, the floor under my feet and the family & friends in between.

Wish more people would notice:
I am exceptionally loyal to my friends and family. I've gotten out of bed at 2am to drive a friend home from a bar. I give great advice to those that seek it. I also really enjoy cooking, although my schedule leaves me with little time to experiment beyond the basics. Just don't ask me to make mayonnaise. That... didn't go so well.

Can't live without
Music
Sunglasses
Shaving brush & razor
Flair pens & trace paper
My Fiat 500

First thing people notice:
I have a great sense of direction and mental GPS- I'm usually the friend who is relied upon to get everyone where we're going. I rarely travel anywhere without some form of camera and am always capturing images of the world around me.

Additional Info:
As hinted above, I'm a music/concert hound. Live music is one of the few times I can turn off the world for a few hours and just have a good time. Even if its some unknown band playing at maxwells or the mercury lounge, its still fun. If you're a music fan too, thats a huge plus!

Leisure Time:
I've spent countless Saturdays at my favorite record store, elbow-deep in their used vinyls, searching for that hidden gem. My favorite way to spend an evening is spinning my newly acquired albums, perhaps while sipping some whisky, in the company of great people. In the warmer weather, I try to get out with my cycling buddies for rides, and we're all planning on entering the NY 5 Borough bike race in May.

Last Book I read:
Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S Thompson- about Raoul Duke and his trip across Nevada with his attorney in search of the American Dream. Its all at once zany, uncontrolled and potentially the most intelligent thing I've ever read.

Friends describe me as:
Creative
Genuine
Easy-Going
Hard Working

I think you got no feedback because there's nothing that needs changing.

How is this profile working for you?

You do have an excellent profile. I expect you'll have a lot of success with this.

The only change I can recommend is to this section:
I give great advice to those that seek it. I also really enjoy cooking, although my schedule leaves me with little time to experiment beyond the basics.

To sound a bit more humble, and a bit more available, you might say, "If you seek my advice, I'm happy to give it to you -- and you might even like it! I really enjoy cooking, but don't ask me to make mayo. That didn't go well."

Also, your answer to the section about "First Thing People Notice" doesn't really fit the category.

Good luck!

Thanks!

Its been working out so-so. I've had about 3 communications in a month, and not for lack of trying. I am glad to have someone say that my profile is good, so its not just all in my head.

Thanks for the advice. I agree that first thing people notice is my weak section. I've rewritten it a bunch of times but it never sounds right. Its not in my nature to be egotistical so every time I put something there it either sounds boastful or not a proper answer. I'll keep working on it.
