I have recieved a few matches over my last 2 months as an EH member. A few weeks ago I became a paying member to try and communicate with some of my matches. I am getting the sense that GC might not be working so I sent a personalized message to a recent match. If this match is not a paying member is she able to read the message or will she receive a message saying something to the effect of "This person sent you a message, if you want to read it, it will cost you $19.99 a month for three months."

She needs to be a paying member to read your message.

The fact is about 75% of your matches are nonpaying members who may only show up on the free weekends.

Of the reamining 25%...about half of those..or roughly 1 out of every 8 matches are looking like you are....the other half are people who still have a membership prepaid but arent activly using the site because they either gave up or they found someone they are currently dating.

best way to tell who is alive in the system is by looking at who viewed you and who updated their profile.

Nonpaying members can appear "active" now thanks to last log in, profile views ,smiles and icebreakers.
Non payers can do all of the above plus throw up a profile and pics.
Best to ignore these indicators...It is an attempt by eH to have deadbeat non-payers seem like "active" paying members.

Only paying members can see pics, communicate with questions or read eH mail.

Send the questions to everyone who interests you... Ignore non-responders ,they are most likely not paying or not interested...either way... focus only on those who can communicate.....Good Luck...
