I recently joined EH and would like some feedback on my profile. Thanks a bunch!

The one thing I am most passionate about:
I love life and I love trying new things - food, travel, activities, meeting new people. It is always fun discovering something new and even more exciting to share the experience with someone else.
The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
Sincerity is important to me. I want my partner to say what he means and mean what he says.
The most influential person in my life has been:
This one is easy, it's got to be my best friend Beth. We met in 5th grade and were inseparable through high school. She laughs at me, cries with me and yells at me when I need it. She has always been honest with me and she sets the bar pretty high when it comes to values and morals.
The three things which I am most thankful for:
· My family. My daughter and my neice are two of the most important people in my life.
· My health and the health of my family. I am able to enjoy a wide variety of activities and do most of the things I want to do.
· My good fortune. Throughout my life I have been extremely fortunate and I am thankful for that.
Three of my best life-skills are:
· Raising and/or caring for children
· Being a good friend and companion
· Cooking for my family and friends
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

I honestly don't know.
The things I can't live without are:

· My daughter, she is the best thing ever.
· Laughter, it keeps me on track.
· Sun
· Water
· Love
The first thing people notice about me:

People notice my dimples, my smile and the sparkle in my eyes. All of which have more to do with my personality than my appearance.
Some additional information I want you to know:

I am entering a new phase of life as my “little one” gets ready to go off to college and am looking to change things up a bit, spread my wings and do some flying. I have a wonderful family, great friends, healthy body, and clear mind, and would like to find someone special to share it all with.

I typically spend my leisure time:

I love to exercise and go to the gym several times a week with a good friend. Recently, I participated in my first 5K and had a really good time. Being outside and enjoying the weather are great ways to spend my time off. I also spend a lot of time with my daughter. She'll be going off to college before long, so I am taking advantage of the time we have left together and volunteering in her school activities.
The last book I read and enjoyed:

Water for Elephants. I am from a long line of Sarasota natives and am interested in Sarasota history; consequently, circus history goes along with it. I did not expect that the circus had such a dark history.

My friends describe me as:

· Happy
· Kind
· Easy-Going
· Loyal

very cliche. Pasionate about is why you chose your career....is there an interest or hobby you love and would never give up....is there something you volunteer for ...is there a cause you fight for.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
Sincerity is important to me. I want my partner to say what he means and mean what he says.

Why is Sincerity important to you....personalize it...what past experience was the reason why you feel this way?

Ask Beth or your daughter this question and see what the tell you.

You going to a gym several times and working and spending time with your daughter may say you have no time to actually date. Thus they pass on your profile.

You exercising so frequently can make someone think you have had a weight problem/issue before.

What you want to put in your profile are some things that when they read this they will say...you know what I can see myself dating this person because we seem to like the same things. What else do you like to do?

The last book I read and enjoyed:

Water for Elephants. I am from a long line of Sarasota natives and am interested in Sarasota history; consequently, circus history goes along with it. I did not expect that the circus had such a dark history.

comments above in blue...you dont say your age so its hard to tailor the advice to your age based audience.

What are you age range and distance settings? do you initiate communication?

Pictures do matter on your profile. You should have a head shot and a body shot.

not everyone on the chat here are members and they cant log in to look at your profile.

The other problem is that you embedded this into someone elses thread so you will not get any responses from people.

That isnt how this works. You need to create a new thread for your profile review.

I moved your profile review to a thread of its own, bgallag; this thread is for junebug's use. http://advice.eharmony.com/boards/da...w-bgallag.html (Profile Review -- bgallag)

In dating profiles, it's important to keep in mind that it's to attract men who are reading it. ...and so can envision something with you. Repetitive mentioning of the daughter /empty nest etc....is not really related to dating ...is it? Maybe rethink and reword a few things with dating in mind...Good Luck..

Eating food as a "passionate about"?.......you may want to reword this.

Most? this suggests you might have health concerns...do you??

The constant mention of your daughter and a guy will think, "Hmm, is she ready to date? any time left over for me?"

FWIW, I wouldn't say "participated" in my first 5K...I'd say "ran"...participated sounds like you handed out Gatorade or powerbars, sort of a benchwarmer phrase..

The last book I read and enjoyed:

Water for Elephants. I am from a long line of Sarasota natives and am interested in Sarasota history; consequently, circus history goes along with it. I did not expect that the circus had such a dark history.

Not bad, could use some tweaking though.
