So tonight when I log into respond to a match, there is an ad smack dab in the middle of my page. The ad has no visible way to close it?

It is not enough that I pay a subscription for this service, you have to stick an ad directly in front of the screen that doesn't even have a way to close said ad?

Seriously?

Gah!

I waited about five minutes and it eventually slotted itself to the side.

What gives?

Did you try it with another browser right away ? I had the same happen to me and I switched browsers if I recall correctly and it wasn't a problem. But that was some time ago, not %100 sure.

Apparently, we aren't spending enough to be dissatisfied with our dating lives?

Sounds like Firefox with Adblock Plus would solve that problem.

If I am not mistaken...I think its a violation of federal law if you have an ad that doesnt have a close button.

When ads like that pop up it has usually been a virus or adware that does it. I had an adware "virus" that would pop up ad after ad and I couldn't do anything about it. It wouldn't do it all the time, just on certain sites. It definitely wasn't associated with the sites I was visiting, either. Try downloading an adware remover. I did that a couple years back and haven't have many problems with aggressive ads like that since.

You can also try hitting esc on your keyboard to see if it goes away that way.

What is the ad for? eH?

I seriously doubt it's the computer. This has only ever happened, as described, at the eHarmony dating site, after I log in to respond to a match.

They used to have some Facebook connection screen that would pop up on the site in front of the login box about half-way through logging in. That was seriously irritating, too, but had a close box.

This never happens at any other site except eHarmony. It is not like the malware ad pop-ups you describe. These are meant to be part of the eH site.

This particular ad had no close box, but eventually slotted itself into the sidelines of the page. I just had to sit there and wait for it to go into its corner on the eHarmony page.

I think personally there shouldn't even BE ads on my eHarmony page if I'm a paid subscriber. But they definitely should not hang at any point down in front of my main text, blocking my view from what I went in there to do, if I am a paying subscriber.

This is just my 2 cents of course. Perhaps others subscribe to the site just for the ads?

There weren't no double negatives in LBBM's post.

There was however a double negative in mine.
