This is not a glitch in the system per se unless your match actually says Male (for the OP) on the profile.

I have had this happen twice in approximately 3,500 matches over four years. In both cases the only thing that I had to go on was the name as neither had photos and in both cases Customer Care did get back with me and tell me that the person had clicked the wrong box when filling out their profile. Also in both cases the profile indicated "Female". The first time, about two years ago, the profile was removed from my pool within an hour or two and I suspect that the reason that the problem was corrected so quickly was that the person recognized the error and had contacted Customer Care right away. The second time, just a month or so back it took several days for eHarmony to get the problem corrected.

PLEASE tell me you were joking with this response. If not, I am a little worried. You say "reluctance to same sex dating" so nonchalantly, as if it is actually just a choice that a person makes. Hmm...blonde or brunette? guy or girl? I'm straight, but I would imagine if you were to ask someone who is gay that they would tell you that there is a lot more to it than merely making a choice!
