Dear forum members:
Could you please give me feedback on my profile?
Thank you for your consideration.

The one thing I am most passionate about:
I love dancing Argentine Tango. This dance is so beautiful. There are no routines to follow. I just move as I feel. It allows me to express myself in a different way. Argentinians describe it as "communication without words". They are right! I'm also passionate about staying fit and healthy. I exercise regularly and eat healthy. I believe this increases my quality of life.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
Sincerity or genuineness is the most important quality I seek both in a match and in a friend. I think this quality requires honesty. Sincere people will reflect themselves as they are, will not try to deceive the other party with the hopes to impress or take advantage of them.

Basic Information

Occupation: Professor of Economics
Age 28
Height 6' 0"
Wants Kids: Maybe
Kids at Home: No
Ethnicity White, non-Hispanic
Religion: Spiritual, but not religious
Drinks: About once a week
Smokes: Several times a week

In my own words

The most influential person in my life has been:

My adviser in graduate school is the most influential person in my life. He has been my life-coach since I met him. He taught me how to act, how to dress up, how to talk and so on in both professional and casual settings. He is my role model.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

  • The unconditional love my mother has for me
  • The opportunities and chances I was given throughout my education and career
  • Having friends and family who will go out of their way to help me, support me when I am having bad days

Three of my best life-skills are:

  • Creating romance in a relationship
  • Achieving personal goals
  • Continuing to expand my knowledge and awareness

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

My friends who know me for some time tell me I am kind, sweet, generous and thoughtful. These qualities are not immediately observable to others. This is sad because this makes connecting to other people a harder and longer process. I have observed that people generally think the other person has a bad personality and have hard time to open up and make a connection. I don't blame anyone for this, though. Everyone has somehow have their heart broken and they try to avoid that by being cautious.

The things I can't live without are:

  • Car
  • Internet
  • My mother
  • iPhone
  • People to have conversation/interaction with

The first thing people notice about me:

It is probably my accent - English is my second language. I also sometimes say funny things that make native speakers laugh. This is because, I am still learning the culture in US. Like long time ago, in response to "What's up!", I said "Nothing, only clouds". Though, I am much more familiar with the slang and idioms now after living in US for 6 years

Some additional information I want you to know:

I am a happy and complete individual as I am now. But I believe sharing life with a partner makes it more fulfilling. I hope to meet a great person here.

My interests

I typically spend my leisure time:

If I have free time, I generally want to go shopping for clothes. I don't necessarily buy anything, but just try them on. It gives me pleasure. I have a thing for sports coats, and that's how I dress up generally. I also try to spare time for exercising/playing sports, seeing movies and traveling to other cities for sightseeing.

The last book I read and enjoyed:

The last book I read was "Freakonomics." That book got me interested in economics. When I read it, I figured economics is not about money, inflation, unemployment, stock market and so on, but it is about human beings, why individuals act the way they do. I learned economics is everywhere in life. I read it long time ago and since then I haven't read any books except for textbooks and journal articles. I have been so busy studying and learning about economics.

According to my friends:

My friends describe me as:

  • Sweet
  • Thoughtful
  • Generous
  • Hard Working

I think you should end this paragraph after the quote.

I would eliminate the friend part so you don't give the impression that you are looking for friends. This also seems a bit negative.

This paragraph is also a negative, try and find something you want people to notice, not something your friends tell you about yourself.

The things I can't live without are:

  • Car
  • Internet

  • iPhone

These are rather bland, try and be more creative. Also, you've mentioned your mother once already, you don't want to give the impression that she plays a larger role in your life than she does. You should add some descriptors here .. my fire engine red Ferrari Testarossa

The first thing people notice about me:

It is probably my accent - English is my second language. I also sometimes say funny things that make native speakers laugh. This is because, I am still learning the culture in US. Like (don't start a sentence with Like, use For example, a) long time ago, in response to "What's up!", I said "Nothing, only clouds". Though, I am much more familiar with the slang and idioms now after living in US for 6 years

I would add your first language and revise the sentence in red above.

Some additional information I want you to know:

I am a happy and complete individual as I am now. But I believe sharing life with a partner makes it more fulfilling. I hope to meet a great person here.

I have a thing for sports coats, and that's how I dress up generally. I also try to spare time for exercising/playing sports, seeing movies and traveling to other cities for sightseeing.

I would just say you like to shop without getting into what exactly you look for. Also, add more information about the sports you like and the type of movies. For traveling, I'd add some of your favorite cities or places on your bucket list you want to visit.

The last book I read and enjoyed:

The last book I read was "Freakonomics." That book got me interested in economics. I'd end his paragraph at the word life.
