EPS is the police service for Edmonton not a psychic. Figured anyone not in or from Edmonton would make that mistake.

------------------------
Most influential person:

I think everyone played a part in forming who I am as an individual.

I would suppose that my Uncle would have had the biggest impact. Whenever he was in town we would always take hikes up the mountain or go jogging. He inspired me to live healthy and also introduced me to my career path.

------------------------
Most important quality (other person):

I'm looking for someone who desires to spend time together having fun. My partner should want to build and improve on our relationship through communication, affection, and shared activities.

------------------------
First thing people notice:

I have a solid sense of humor. I can find the fun in nearly anything no matter the situation. I'd rather enjoy the ride and die laughing.

------------------------
Thing people don't notice:

People are surprised when I take charge of a situation. I may have a flippant and carefree attitude to a lot of my life, but when the chips are down I know who I would bet on.

------------------------
Five things can't live without:

Affection. I care very much about feeling loved.
Martial Arts. They are a big part of my life.
My Career. Working on my EPS recruitment.
Great food. A good meal always picks me up.
My Friends and Family. They mean the world to me.

------------------------
Any additional information you want your matches to know:

I equally love movies from horror to romance to cartoons. All cinema is wonderful. Live shows definitely take the cake for me. I love a good event.

I'm caring and compassionate, willing to go well out of my way for people I care about. I like to touch and hold hands in public and cuddle together during a cold night. I'm a very warm person.

------------------------
Most passionate about:

Martial arts is definitely a big outlet for me. I see it as a great combination of art and exercise. It takes a lot of focus and commitment to excel in it. I always feel refreshed after it, never burned out.

------------------------
Leisure time:

I like to try and be active during my leisure time. Going out hiking some of Edmonton's city trails, taking a drive around town a little, going to some of my favourite stores, practicing martial arts, relaxing with a good show at home or the theatre, and going to live shows.

------------------------
Thanks in advance to anyone who offers up some guidance.

Not your target audience here..but this profile reads pretty well... try use each section to mention different things about you /your interests and life style. What do women know besides you want a lot affection, you hike a lot , enjoy movies ?... Tweak and elaborate a bit and you'll do very well....Good Luck..

It sounds a little stiff and generic, try throwing in some specifics. For example, I love all cinema, from good horror movies, like Nightmare on Elm Street, to a classic like Casablana.

Also, your sense of humor is not showing through.

Well, I probably am a little stiff in person. Didn't want it to be generic though. What parts are generic about it that could use the attention?

Well my humor is usually sarcasm and witty counters. I know that doesn't usually translate well over text.

I'll think about it and see if I can spice it up a little more.
Thanks again.

Explain your sense of humor. I personally like a bit of sarcasm, but not everyone does and it's a good thing for the reader to know about you.

What type of martial arts do you do? Expand on that more.

"I like to try and be active during my leisure time. Going out hiking some of Edmonton's city trails, taking a drive around town a little, going to some of my favourite stores, practicing martial arts, relaxing with a good show at home or the theatre, and going to live shows."

The bolded portion is all pretty generic, add some examples.

You want your profile to stand out a bit and if all your answers are 2-3 sentences there is a good possibility that you won't capture the reader's attention.

I also think your 5 things you can't live without is pretty boring, sorry. Almost everyone says the last 3. Try and add some new ones or be more creative .. i.e. Filet Mignon cooked medium rare over an open fire (or however you liked your xxx cooked).

After taking some time to work on the profile, I'd like to upload it again to see the feedback on the changes.
----------
Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and why?

I think everyone played a part in forming who I am as an individual.

I would suppose that my Uncle would have had the biggest impact. Whenever he was in town we would always take hikes up the mountain or go jogging. He inspired me to live healthy and also introduced me to my career path.
(no change)
----------
What is the most important quality that you are looking for in another person?

I'm looking for someone who desires to spend time together having whatever we find fun. I want to build and improve on our relationship through communication, affection, and shared activities.
(made it less confrontational by removing "you" or "my partner" and making it more about myself)
----------
Other than your appearance, what is the first thing that people notice about you?

I have a solid sense of humor. I can find the fun in nearly anything no matter the situation. I'd rather enjoy the ride and die laughing.
(no change I think it works)
----------
What is the ONE thing that people DON'T notice about you right away that you WISH they WOULD?

People are really surprised when I take charge of a situation. I may have a flippant and carefree attitude to a lot of my life, but when the chips are down I know who I would bet on.
(no change, I think it works alright. maybe a little rough though)
----------
What are five things that you "can't live without?"

Having and giving affection is important to me.
Martial Arts. It's a great way to relax.
If it's not burnt over a fire it's not real food!
Rainy days, lakes, forests, mountains!
^-- Why am I in Alberta again? Oh right, work!
(for reference alberta is relatively flat without a lot of good water features. plus I really ran hard against that 50 character limit)
----------
Describe the last book that you read and enjoyed. What was it about? What did you like most about it?

Wish I read more, but I don't. Last thing I've read are first aid manuals and my career book for being an officer. Not exactly exciting literature.
-----Since I don't really have anything of value here, I'll gripe a little for fun. What, exactly, does eHarmony have against paragraphs?
----------
Is there any additional information you would like your matches to know about you?

I equally love movies from horror to romance to cartoons. It's really hard to be specific on favorites, though my favorite actor would have to be Jim Carrey. Live shows definitely take the cake for me. I love a good event like comedy clubs, stand up, concerts, and hockey games.

I'm caring and compassionate, willing to go well out of my way for people I care about. I like to touch and hold hands in public and cuddle together during a cold night. I'm a very warm person.
(I added the favorite actor but, i'm a little leery of specifying movies when the "something to talk about" seems to do that already)
----------
What are you most passionate about?

Martial arts is definitely a big outlet for me. Currently it's Taekwondo, though I have been in many others. I see it as a great combination of art and exercise. It takes a lot of focus and commitment to excel in it. I always feel refreshed after it, never burned out.
(i think it read well)
----------
What are the THREE things for which you are MOST thankful?

Scenery. Lakes, mountains, forests, rivers, beaches, etc.
Thunder/Lightning storms. Always a great show!
We live in a country of plenty! I can hunt, fish, and enjoy!
----------
How do you typically spend your leisure time?

-----Locally-----
I like to try and be active during my leisure time. Going out hiking some of Edmonton's city trails, taking a drive around town a little, going to some of my favorite stores, practicing martial arts, relaxing with a good show at home or the theatre, and going to live shows.
-----Not so locally-----
Fishing, when I can return to BC to visit, is a favorite way to spend the day sleeping or chatting while still accomplishing something! I maintain my fishing license in BC year round! Same with boating and swimming. BC really has the best lakes and rivers ever!

Ok, ready for more encouragement. Don't be gentle please. :P

You might consider changing the verbage to a more definitive.”My Uncle had the biggest impact on my life.” You sound like a straight cut guy, why beat around the bush on someone that important to you?

I wonder this, myself. Blocks of text don’t leave much for the imagination. Instead of stating that you don’t read, maybe you could list a book that you want to read, or are looking forward to reading.

I hear what you’re saying. I just don’t think the words are expressing what you’re going for. What I hear is, you like to share those moments when there is a little tension in the air and that feeling of being close to someone. What I read is,” I like PDA and being intimate.” These type of romantic comments are always a little hard to phrase and may eat up your character count. Putting the idea out there is spot on, though.

These two paragraphs have told me great things about your personality. You’re a man that loves his hunting. It projects your personality and makes you stand out. Overall, I think your profile is a step closer to attracting the matches you are looking for.

Ok, ready for more encouragement. Don't be gentle please. :P

Hey, Squasm. I had the following thoughts as I read through your profile. Feel free to take any that resonate with you.
