So my subscription on EH is coming to a close here in about 4 weeks. All of a sudden I'm getting TONS of matches sent to me (11 today, 5 yesterday), and someone initiated GC with me yesterday. This is after 2-3 months of getting maybe one or two flex matches sent to me per day, and no communication requests aside from the one I initiated. I just find it amusing. I don't think THAT many new members signed up during the FCW.

Don't see why not. A lot of very lonely people around NYE feeling the bite of being single and trying hard not to be so next year. I'd venture a guess that of all times of year, they get greatest numbers at this time. Also, a lot of people that had put off dating around the holidays are now back and looking.

This weekend is a free weekend so many people are trying it out and thus getting matched with you.

What sort of settings do you have in your matching ? On age range and distance? unless you live in a remote location or have a narrow range you should be getting more than 1 or 2 matches a day.

Ah, another conspiracy theorist

As I have said before, around about the first of October people have found someone to spend their holidays with or they quit looking and focus on family, friends and the chores of getting ready for the holidays. It is a FCW and so the single people who did not go out on NYE alone are joining to take advantage of the FCW. You live in California which is eHarmony's number one member base, by about twice the number two spot.

Age range is 26-43 I think. Maybe even 25-43, not sure. Distance is 60 miles which covers a population of about 750,000 people. I've had this discussion before on here and it was determined that there just aren't a lot of people in my area on eH. It's a pretty low income area so that would make sense since eH is one of the more expensive pay sites. I get tons of responses on other sites, especially the free ones, so I don't think it's me

I just think it's pretty funny that I'm all of a sudden getting this many matches after it being so dead. It wasn't like this during the last FCW either. I think they're trying to rope me in to paying for another subscription I'm actually seeing somebody right now (from eH), but we aren't at the point of turning off matching just yet.

If they are all new members, wouldn't I be getting a separate email saying "Joe from Yourtownville has just joined eHarmony" or whatever that email says, versus them sending them to me in the daily matches? I've gotten 2-3 of those in the past 4 days.

jc I know exactly what you mean. My search is across the western part of Canada heading east all the way to Toronto Ontario. and for a few weeks now I haven't had a thing pop up from my home province of Manitoba, last night I got 7 from Manitoba, 2 from BC and 1 from Alberta. WHOA! Best part is, I'm back in the game now with what seems to be 2 very lovely ladies.

The FCW (Free Communication Weekend) has a lot to do with your sudden upswing in both matches and requests for communication. I get a surge during these times as well.

If you were in their first set of matches you would get one of those e-mails. If you are in their second, or any subsequent sets, you wouldn't

have you recently changed your photo? you look exceptional in the one on here so perhaps that's why interest has improved.
