I have been watching, laughing, and crying with the board posts for a while, but never really replied to anything yet. Just stumbled on this section and was hoping to get some help!

Like I'm sure many people, I haven't gotten... well, any communication from people recently. Would love any advice and help you can give! Is it worth continued subscription? *sigh* I guess that's how "the love game" goes sometimes, eh?

Thank you so much to all in advance! I know my profile may be "preachy" to some of you, but I guess if you're the same, it comes across just fine. Anyway, feel free to critique any and everything, anyway!

The one thing I am most passionate about:
I am passionate about a lot of things! My faith is the most important thing to me ever, and always will be. My family is also very important to me. I enjoy being an age group triathlete! I am also passionate about helping people and being a part of other people's lives, because that is what God leaves us here on earth to do.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
People are unique and no one can fit in a box, but these are some good ideas of qualities I prefer: PASSIONATE love of Jesus and desire to obey him-Jesus must ALWAYS be #1! Fondness for being random and goofy-to do the silliest, "craziest" things "whenever you feel like it"; attention to one's body (eating well, exercise/physical activity); musical; sense of humor; desire for intellectual conversation; desire to talk and pray together ofte…

In my own words
The most influential person in my life has been:

The most influential person in my life has been the Holy Spirit. He leads me in so many amazing ways. Without him, I'd be a real putz! He tells me what I should and shouldn't do - advice that is ALWAYS the best! He is just a good all-around friend, even being willing to "just chill" with me! Also hugely influential in my life are Christian teachers Joseph Prince and Andrew Wommack. They have helped me to understand true grace (AMAZING, unearned, unmerited favor) in a way that I didn't before. Lastly, youth pastors, workers, and missions friends have helped encourage me and provoke me to all that I can be, especially my YWAM DTS staff.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit - they're my posse that keep me out of trouble and loving people and life
My family - we are amazingly close and love each other dearly. We spend lots of free time together
Food. I love food!
Three of my best life-skills are:

Sharing my beliefs through teaching, participation, and example
Helping those who are less fortunate or in need
Entertaining in my home
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

Erm... I pretty much wear myself on my sleeve (it's not easy, I tell ya! I don't know exactly how I fit myself on my sleeve, but somehow I do! . I try to be open with people! Most of my friends know me to be fun-loving, talkative, intellectual, and indecisive when it comes to too many good food selections at a restaurant. My parents know me as loving, stubborn, giving, and resourceful.

The things I can't live without are:

God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit
My books. I would cry if I lost them.
I like my Android phone and all things technology
I LOVE my family and friends
It would be hard to get places without my car.
The first thing people notice about me:

My passion, in particular for God. Love of people and life. Genuineness. That I'm outgoing. I'm a total bookworm! I've been told I give really good hugs. I'm kind of random and goofy at times (ok, most of the time!), but can be extremely serious, too! I usually surprise people - in what I can do, the things I love. Let's just say that I'm eclectic!

Some additional information I want you to know:

My interests
I typically spend my leisure time:

Right now, I spend my leisure time training (I am a triathlete), reading, or spending time with my family. My hobbies kind of go through phases, I guess. I love doing different things, so I can see throughout my life a lot of different loves and ways I've spent my time. Most do involve my family and reading, though!
The last book I read and enjoyed:

I am reading "Hidden in Plain Sight" right now. It's a book about the virtues that Peter talks about in 2 Peter. It is really good because it 1. is so true and well written; 2. really challenges me to "step it up" in the areas of virtue that I still lack! I read a ton, so I could go on and on about other books I've read and loved recently! One of my favorite books that I've read is called "Make Me Like Jesus" by Michael Phillips. You should go read it right now! *nods and smiles* I love anything by Erwin McManus, Ted Dekker, or Karen Hancock; How to Win Friends and Influence People; probably more "favorites," too! I love to read!

As I understand it you have been an eHarmony paying member for awhile and that you have gotten some communication from matches in the past but that recently the communication has been a bit sparse. This could just be because of the time of year, it is the holidays and people have other priorities and are traveling.

Thank you so much to all in advance! I know my profile may be "preachy" to some of you, but I guess if you're the same, it comes across just fine. Anyway, feel free to critique any and everything, anyway!

Take out the triathlete part and put that in the Additional Information or Leisure sections. Then do some re-writing of the rest of this so that it flows together better. What I mean is that this is supposed to be about your ONE true passion. You start off with God then add a second one of your family and then end with God again. With proper arrangement you can blend all this together so that your family is connected with your passion of God. I will also caution you about mentioning anything more than once in your profile. You have mentioned God twice in just this section. The first time I have already gotten that you are a religious person, you don't have to keep telling me. When you do, you become one dimensional, and GOD did not create you that way.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
People are unique and no one can fit in a box, but these are some good ideas of qualities I prefer: PASSIONATE love of Jesus and desire to obey him-Jesus must ALWAYS be #1! See my comment in the Passionate section, you have mentioned Jesus twice in this section. Also you are listing a whole bunch of attributes you want your match to have really have little to do with the important things that will build a strong relationship. You have also listed some things that I would not associate with a truly religious person.

If I got a profile with this in it I would be quite certain that I was dealing with a space cadet and just hit the close button. Go re-read the last sentence in my comment on your Passionate section.

The three things which I am most thankful for:
God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit - they're my posse that keep me out of trouble and loving people and life
My family - we are amazingly close and love each other dearly. We spend lots of free time together
Food. I love food!
Again with the religion.

Three of my best life-skills are:
Sharing my beliefs through teaching, participation, and example
Helping those who are less fortunate or in need
Entertaining in my home

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:
Erm... I pretty much wear myself on my sleeve it's not easy, I tell ya! I don't know exactly how I fit myself on my sleeve, but somehow I do! . I try to be open with people! Yea, a section that does not have any mention of religion in it.

The things I can't live without are:
God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit
My books. I would cry if I lost them.
I like my Android phone and all things technology
I LOVE my family and friends
It would be hard to get places without my car.

This is not supposed to be a laundry list of things. It needs a re-write.

Some additional information I want you to know:
There is nothing here. There are things that you have in other sections that could be put here.

So as your match I am going to read this and wonder what it is that we may do together unless I am also a triathlete Reading is a solitary activity and actually should be covered in the Last Book section.

I have a feeling a Christian dating site or church singles events may be the best venue for you.

The profile above is so over the top with "God" that I feel there is no room in there for anyone else.

I have a feeling even devout Christian guys would turn away from the above profile as there is nothing there other than your passion for "Jesus". They get plenty of that at church.

I would re-write the profile as such that while explaining your passion for religion you put enough information there about you and your interests (if any exists other than church).

In other words, why would a guy would want to be with you? Convince him in your profile with something other than religion.

To elaborate, as I can't seem to edit my posts. In interests mention things that a guy would like to do together with you.

I agree with the others here...your religion is so over the top that many many guys will pass on your profile.

I understand religion is important to you. But when you mention it more than once you scare people off. That is true with anything...same advice for say a single mom who mentions her children throughout her profile says her children rule or life and she has no place for men. Same true for an activity or interest such as being an big time runner/triatholoner where its mentioned throughout says this is what dominates your life and you have no time for a relationship.

Tou may need to reread "how to influence people" because your profile is scaring many off.

I wouldn't back down on the religious stuff since it seems to be so important to you. Of course, this means that you won't get as much communication, but you shouldn't compromise on your faith. Feel free to read my own profile review (since I'm a 28 year old girl with a very "religious" profile) here: http://advice.eharmony.com/boards/da...view-28-f.html (Profile review -- 28/F) I don't get very many communication requests, but the matches who contact me do seem to be very compatible. I've actually moved off-site with a couple guys, and we are now talking via email and facebook. I don't know how things will turn out, of course, but at least they seem to share my faith on a very deep level. One in particular seems to have great potential.

The organizational suggestions above were good. Try to be as clear and concise as possible, and always use good grammar and spelling! I like how enthusiastic you are!

Thanks all to your suggestions! I so appreciate it. I did change almost everything. To those of you who think it's still "too preachy," I think you will probably remain disappointed. But, still please give me your input. I definitely considered it all and am still willing and hoping to tweak it a bit! You guys are awesome!! BTW, my pictures on the boards are not the ones on my EH profile. I don't have those on this picture. And I was having issues even getting pictures to go on my board profile. Weird!

The one thing I am most passionate about:
I am very passionate about a lot of things, but I will try to only name a few! :-) My relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the most important thing to me ever and always will be. I am also passionate about helping people and being a part of other people's lives, because that is what God leaves us here on earth to do. My last most important passion is spending time with my family (we like to play games, especially ones that are challenging and involve critical thinking). I guess it's as the Good Book says: Love God, love people; everything is summed up in these two.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
PASSIONATE love of Jesus and desire to obey him-Jesus must ALWAYS be #1! It will be great to spend time in intellectual conversation, talking about the day, and praying together often. I enjoy being outdoors and active; I would appreciate someone who likes to be active, as well (not necessarily "working out" all the time, but just active: walks, activities, etc.).

In my own words
The most influential person in my life has been:

Influencer number 1 is the Holy Spirit. He leads me in so many amazing ways. Without him, I'd be a real putz! He is just a good all-around friend, even being willing to "just chill" with me!
Also hugely influential in my life are Christian teachers Joseph Prince and Andrew Wommack. They have helped me to understand true grace (AMAZING, unearned, unmerited favor) in a way that I didn't before. I listen to their free, online teachings as much as I can, growing in God all the while.
Lastly, youth pastors and missions friends have helped encourage me and provoke me to all that I can be, especially my YWAM DTS staff.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit - they're my posse that keep me out of trouble and loving people and life
My family - we are amazingly close and love each other dearly. I am so blessed that I get to take care of my recently disabled brother everyday.
Food. I love food! I don't overeat food, I just enjoy and savor it!

I don't know exactly how I fit myself on my sleeve, but somehow I do!).

My books: I would cry if I lost them
I like my Android phone and all things technology
I LOVE my family and friends
My car - we've been together 12 years!
The first thing people notice about me:

People usually notice how friendly and passionate I am. sometimes I may start talking a little faster and louder when I'm excited about a topic of conversation. I am welcoming and accepting of all people. And my smile is crooked, but I guess that's kind of linked to my appearance. :-)

Some additional information I want you to know:

If anything in my profile came across as weird, it's probably because I was trying to be funny. It's hard to communicate humor online! I want to get married one day, but I'm not in a rush. So even if you're not "that serious," feel free to write me anyway! I one day want to adopt children from foster care. I am passionate about America's youth knowing Who they are in Christ - this is near and dear to me. I want to put so much more about myself: please just ask me stuff! I have many facets of my personality and hobbies that there isn't room for on this profile!

My interests
I typically spend my leisure time:

I love doing a variety of things, literally. I love trying new hobbies as my friends introduce them to me. I will try anything at least once! The things that I CURRENTLY do the most are train as age group triathlete-swim, bike, run; play games and spend time with my family (I am often with my parents and brother, since my full-time job is to take care of my brother at my parents' house; we like TV shows Modern Family and Big Bang Theory); read; expand my business as a health coach (it's fun to help people be healthy!). I also really enjoying playing every sport that I've tried(football, soccer, volleyball, and disc golf, just to name a few)

You should go read it right now! *nods and smiles* I love anything by Erwin McManus, Ted Dekker, or Karen Hancock; How to Win Friends and Influence People; I love fantasy and Christian fiction books.
