I'm new to the site and I recently signed up. I am not a paying member yet, but I am very curious about seeing what my matches look like. I am very hesitant to sign up for anything longer than 1 month due to me not knowing what my matches could look like. Is there anyway that I can get a better deal than the $60/month? Like I said, I am hesitant about signing up for more than that, because the guys could look like trolls.

The guys will look like the guys on other sites. If you want a better deal, do a google search.

It is also just as likely that you look like a troll

If I recall correctly--it's been awhile--you'll get a $20/mo or $30/mo deal on a 3-6 month membership if you a few months. The folks on here look similar to what you'll find at your local grocer, although decidely more single. The ones you'll have a good chance with will look similar to the ones you have a good chance with in real life. It's a great site, but don't expect magic.

With that charming attitude I don't think it matters what the guys look like, you aren't going to have any luck anyway.

Expecting results in one month=recipe for failure. Personally, when I signed up, I bought the 12month contract... my "equation" was that the cost of the contract is nothing compared to cost of a couple bad dates. Having the sense of urgency removed prompted me to have far lower desire to try to force something to go quickly. As it turns out, I met an incredible woman and flat cancelled my membership about 4 months in... how I declared to myself that I wanted to be "exclusive" with her.

Although the relationship went down in flames about 14 months in (and year later I find myself with incredible woman I met on OKCupid), I have 0 regrets about eH and still highly recommend it with attitude "go big or don't go at all". Free sites bring in a much wider variety that you have to weed through, pay sites bring in people who really desire (sometimes overly, so have to weed through them too) LTR.

Final (for now) advice: Tunnel vision on the treat WILL trigger you to ignore red flags and act distinctly different from how you really are (doing that which you feel you "need" to do to get the "treat"). Be yourself, have fun, enjoy the journey.
