While wandering through old e-mails I discovered this gem sent to me by eH on 03/09/04.

"Dear Buck,

It is frustrating to everyone when matches don't respond to a request to communicate. We understand this frustration, and the key to overcoming it is making sure it doesn't prevent you from achieving your goal. You came to eHarmony to find someone to share your life. You joined eHarmony to find a Soul Mate, and we are uniquely qualified to help you reach that goal; all it takes is persistence for you to move onward.

We take the matter very seriously. We have a program to track how active a person is within the eHarmony system and remove users who have a record of non-participation."

I suppose they scrapped it some time back.

Not good when you want to mention your huge number of users in your marketing campaigns!

I don't know, given the record low number of matches that I am getting since I rejoined 2 months ago it would seem that this policy must be being vigorously enforced. Of course I currently have 25 matches sitting in my Communicating folder and only one has responded so that would be a 96% non-participation rate

That's mighty interesting. For all the years I've been on this forum, dead matches has probably been a top 10 topic, and this little goodie has never been mentioned.

I find it hard to believe that all those matches that haven't been active in 3 weeks have actually been active within 4 weeks/30 days and we just happen to get them sent to us during that one last week before their matching would have been shut off!

I am a bit skeptical myself, seems as though this information would be common knowledge if it were in fact their policy.

Here's a link to the thread I read it in....it is post #41
