Registered ~1 week ago and instantly received 6 matches, none of which were anywhere near me. Cool - figured I'd get my feet wet and start the whole communication thing.

Not a single match was 'available' for communication when I attempted to initiate, and now I have zero matches. The 'new match' thing retrieves none no matter what my settings are (distance, etc).

Am I doing something wrong? Is this the norm?

Didn't even think to reach out to customer service. Sent them an email - thanks.

This is not the norm.

But I do need to ask where you live? If you live in a small town or rural area your pool of potential matches is going to be quite small.

I would suggest that you call Customer Care instead of e-mailing. You are more likely to get a real answer by calling than asking your question via e-mail.

But they so like to send out those useless e-mails, assuming their e-mail is actually working.

How were these matches "not available"? That part confuses me.

You need to be a paying member to send communication. "Registering" only allows you to throw up a profile and pics, bit not see pics or communicate...that's why they are "not available" to you.
