^^^ Believe me, I hear you, but I just don't think it's gonna work for you the way you hope.

If a woman really isn't interested in a guy who is 5'7", when she meets Tom she's going to be disappointed & chances are it'll be a one shot deal. They've both wasted their time. Now, it may take the guy a few dates to figure out that Maria is really 62, and maybe, just maybe by that time he will like her enough that it won't matter. But chances are he'll just be annoyed about the whole thing and drop her. Now they've both wasted even more time, money, & emotional investments.

So for me, even if it means that most guys are screening me out - even the ones my age, which is the part that makes me crazy - I'd rather have that happen than have the man go poof on me after three dates and there are feelings involved. I share your frustration, but I don't think your solution would work well.
I am not asking that the age not be posted at all, I am just asking for it not to be in a prominent place right by your name. Let's put it in the same place that the height is listed. Maybe we will 'both' get more clicks on our profile.

Most will agree here that men are more likely to discriminate on Weight, not Age.
Sorry, but I know for a fact that men discriminate on age. Weight too, but also definitely age. I gave up on eH after 3 months when not a single man on the entire island of Oahu ever responded to me. I am now on match, where the parameters are visible. So yes, the men are looking for women who are no larger than "about average", but they are also looking for younger women. Often much younger women. The guys in the 55 - 65 range where I am looking, are usually interested in women about 10 years younger, often 20 years younger, and sometimes 30+ years younger.

I really do think you are kidding yourself if you think this would help.

Maybe you don't but I can tell you that I have calculated that only 23% of the men that I am matched with click on my profile; I think that is low compared to my daughter who in eharmony has a click-rate of 92%.

The difference? I think because her age is listed as 28 and mine is 62; I need a drink.
On this we can agree. My 22 year old daughter has had much greater success than I have as well.

Thank you for your candid and insightful information. Best wishes to you and good luck! We both know that those men who are not clicking on our profiles have no idea what they are missing!
