For the second questions I always send custom questions, never from the eharmony list.

My matches seem to enjoy the questions. Some say they are thought provoking.

A few close after I send the questions. I guess if my questions are too difficult to answer then they should close

*

One of my favorite questions is "You can invite 4 people (throughout history) to dinner. Who and Why?"

*

Do you have any favorite second questions (not on the eharmony list) ?

I also like to ask my own questions.
The last one I asked, the guy never answered, it was" do you believe in the existence of black holes in the universe as forementioned with Stephen Hawkings???" I think the guy literally hung up the phone when I asked that....lol,lol,

But I also like your question about what 4 people would you ask..... let's see one would be,..David Suzuki, Stephen Hawking for sure, three would be Cluas van Staphenburg and my grandmother. David Suzuki he's an a environmentalist and a staunch advocate for the human race. Stephen Hawking because he would be very interesting to talk to about physics and possibly get me to understand a little bit more about it. Claus Von Stephenburg to find out what more about his involvement in the assasination of Hitler, and about other possible scenarios that were involved. And last but not least my grandmother just to get to her sense of humor and sometimes wacky outlook on life and it's many mysteries.

I haven't asked this but I think these would be good: You've got 5 minutes to leave your burning house/apartment, what do you grab on the way out?

What crime/illegal activity would you most enjoy if you got a get out of jail free card?

If you could pick another period of time/civilization to have lived in what would it be?
Nice! I like those questions...considered them "borrowed"

People often say they have no regrets but I think you will be interested in feedback you receive when you present theman opportunity for a do over.

Finish the sentence: If I could turn back the hands of time I would...

I love the history thing......I'll have to use that one..
Hi ts

I didn't realize this was as popular a question as it is. I've increased it to 5 people, not family. you are giving a dinner party.. who would you invite and why... and for the ladies- what would you serve and who else would you invite to attend. I also like - describe your spirituality and how you came to believe as you do or don't. you are in a life boat with 18 others, 12 hanging onto the side, the seas are very rough, you are desperately overloaded and taking on water. 5 people don't look like they will make it. It is your responsibility and decision what to do next. What would you do and why? One of those - no great answer questions, but does give you insight as to how one might deal with an impossible situation. If they answer completely out of the box- as in - I would be God and save them all- or I would wake up and go have breakfast...you know you have a winner.

However, I did receive one set of 'custom questions' a few weeks ago that nearly made me close out the match then and there. On each of the custom question lines, they completely filled out the 'Question box' with 12-15 questions in each box. Up until that point, I thought the match could be interesting, but there was no way I was going to answer 40+ questions before getting into OC. About a week later she closed because I had failed to respond, heh.
I ask about 1 or up to 3 questions in each box. One question i ask repeatedly, "define for me your definition of passion and chivalry. Please give examples if they apply to you. no limits". I never thought that would drive someone away. I want to get more of a feeling about that person prior to OC. I expect it takes time. i take my time. i also tend to be hesitant on the men that answer minimally and thoughtless. Almost like checking off just one more thing to do prior to being able to talk to me.

What are your thoughts?

Some guy asked me what is my ideal place to raise a family. I was very descriptive is that a good thing or should i keep my answers to three sentences. I described two sitautions, depending if we have the financial means to buy a house out in the outskirts of my city with five acres of land or in a semi populated area i wanted a three bedroom house with two dining rooms and a pool. Not that i expect the guy to be making millions but i want him to be financially stable to provide a decent home

Although the odds are against it, be careful with that question. September of 07, I was in an apartment fire. I had enough time to get my kids out...nothing else. Some of my neighbors weren't so lucky...

Other than that, in theory, its a great question! Oh, and if you actually get 5 minutes, thats pretty amazing. 3 minutes destroyed 6 homes in my fire...then the firemen showed up.

I always ask custom Q's. I like to include at least one silly one to see if they've got a good sense of humor.

My favorite question to ask is: "What was the best day of your life, and what made it so extraordinary? What was the worst day of your life, and what made it so undesirable?" It really gives you insight into what people enjoy, loathe, care about and are passionate about.
