How often does this happen to you guys?

It happened to me today for the first time (that I can recall) in the three years I have been a member. I had two people send me something and I only got notified through email that one of them did.

Never.

eHarmony has plenty of issues, but notification of communication appears to "just always work".

I have noticed on *MY* side, (gmail), that sometimes gmail tries to get cute, and compresses 2 emails into 1 "thread" sometimes, when the sender and title appear to be the same.
So sometimes on my phone, it will appear I just got one notification, although when I really check gmail, there will be two there.

This is an interesting question that has multiple answers.

There was a time about 2 years ago where the e-mails were going out many hours after the communication was sent. Most times (for me) it would be 4 to 6 hours late though there were times when it would be as much as 24 hours late.

There was also a time, and it may still work this way, that if you went into your eHarmony account and viewed the communication before the system had queued the e-mail notification then the e-mail would not be sent.

The e-mail notification system is not perfectly in sync with the communications and typically is a bit behind. Usually from 10 minutes or so to about an hour.

Good point.
I have seen this as well.

I've had notifications show up late, but I can't recall a time where a notification has never arrived.

My friend has stopped getting notifications more than a year ago, and was told by EH Customer Service that some email systems filter such messages. I don't know if anything changed recently.
