Sorry, Gr8Guy, but you are wrong on this. It is not the norm. It may be that you have come across several women who have lied, but they are certainly not the norm in real life.

This makes me wonder about the degree to which normally honest people will lie about themselves in an online profile. Does anyone have any stats on this?

OP, I think you will find that most of the people on these boards will tell you that they are honest about their age. We are not, however, representative of the online dating population.

I've cheated on my height. I'm 5'7 and I put 5'8 because of all the 5'0-5'2 girls that put 5'10+ requirement.

I don't care about my age, but a girl I have talked to specifically asked if I was my age. Said she has had guys take 5 years off. Apparently trying to get younger girls.

Funny thing is - saying you are younger than you are doesn't do a thing to make you look younger.
This is true. I'm 50 and I don't look or feel 50. I don't have enough time to worry about my age.

I'm just wondering if why all these products are geared more towards women than they are to men. Mind you, there's on hair care product now that's geared toward men and helping them make their hair look less grey.

It's still strange though that men look "distinguished" as they age and women don't.

when they stop being able to get any dates!

That can be true for some desperate people.

I'm 48 and well, age is but a number. I'm not walking around with a cane. I still have some good years ahead of me. If anyone thinks I'm too old. I guess I don't need the likes of them. I'm fine being alone.

Lying about your height, weight, or age is a losing game. That first impression goes right down the drain.
