I'm not really sure why, but I do get a number of "looks" and no responses. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Most Passionate About

I've considered this question for a while now and I would have to say that I'm most passionate about family, people, knowledge and creativity... aka. life. I'm not afraid to speak my mind and put my heart out there. I believe this will create the most amazing relationship and friendship when that connection is made.

Looking for in a person

The most important qualities would be passion and chemistry and I don't mean the "Honey!! I blew up the kitchen again!" kind. The other things I think are generated over time like reliability, friendship, trust and respect. I know that my art is something that I'm very passionate about and love to do. I always make time for it, acquire the things that I need to keep doing it and always smile when I talk about it. That to me is what I would hope to find in a partner.

The most influential person in my life has been:

I've been blessed with knowing a number of very influential people in my life and I believe that everyone touches our lives in many ways. If even for a brief moment, we are given the chance to experience the greatness others have to offer and find our strength to overcome the obstacles.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

  • My beautiful daughters.
  • My Greyhound.
  • The support and love of my friends and family.

Three of my best life-skills are:

  • Using humor to make friends laugh
  • Making art and culture an ongoing part of my life
  • Cooking for my family and friends

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

I've been doing some form of art since I was a kid. This includes, but not limited to writing and playing music, drawing, 3D modeling, etc.. I have quite a list of artistic interests and normally not something that is seen right away.

The things I can't live without are:

  • Time with my daughter
  • My greyhound
  • Communication
  • Starbucks Javachip
  • Art supplies

The first thing people notice about me:

I've often been told that people can 'see' how genuine, caring and giving I am and how I always keep a positive attitude. I always look at the glass as half full (although it's always full if you include air, right? LOL!)

Some additional information I want you to know:

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I look forward to meeting you. Life is too short and there are many things to do and see. I hope that we all are fortunate enough to share those times with that someone special. You made it this far, so what are you waiting for? :)

My interests

I typically spend my leisure time:

Leisure time is normally spent just enjoying some down time drawing at Starbucks while enjoying the atmosphere or working on a new design or 3D project. Summer time however, it's time spent in the arts district checking out the other artists and small shops. These are just a few things, but you never know what I may see while driving down the road. :)

The last book I read and enjoyed:

Writings of Robert Frost as well as the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe. I've enjoyed both since I was a kid and still do when time permits.

According to my friends:

My friends describe me as:

  • Genuine
  • Good Listener
  • Affectionate
  • Respectful

Very honestly, this doesn't do anything for me. It isn't bad, but it isn't good either. Many people say they're passionate about life and while it's nice to think people spring out of bed and shout, "It's great to be alive!!" most people don't. So, what gets your heart rate up? What's part of your life that you would be really sad to see end? If you could do one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? These type of questions lead to interesting (unique) answers

Looking for in a person

The other things I think are generated over time like reliability, friendship, trust and respect. I know that my art is something that I'm very passionate about and love to do. I always make time for it, acquire the things that I need to keep doing it and always smile when I talk about it. Um, ding ding, this is your first answer. And very well done - esp. the always smile bit. That to me is what I would hope to find in a partner.
This is a good answer - it tells me you're a good guy who's looking for the "real" thing and is fairly pragmatic about what that is.

The most influential person in my life has been:

I've been blessed with knowing a number of very influential people in my life and I believe that everyone touches our lives in many ways. If even for a brief moment, we are given the chance to experience the greatness others have to offer and find our strength to overcome the obstacles.

Pick one - what you prioritize is telling. How you answer this tells your match a little about what you value in someone and how you relate to them. A guy who was close to his grandpa shows he's respectful, family oriented, etc - it isn't overt, but it makes a good impression

The three things which I am most thankful for:

  • My beautiful daughters.
  • My Greyhound.
  • The support and love of my friends and family.
Good

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

I've been doing some form of art since I was a kid. This includes, but not limited to writing and playing music, drawing, 3D modeling, etc.. I have quite a list of artistic interests and normally not something that is seen right away.

This is just ok. Since you mention art elsewhere (and will hopefully lead with it!), you may want to consider something else - profiles are tiny and mentioning something more than once adds weight to it.
The things I can't live without are:

  • Time with my daughter singular or plural? it's plural above
  • My greyhound
  • Communication
  • Starbucks Javachip
  • Art supplies
Daughters/greyhound are redundant. You're already grateful for them (which is a better place, I think).
The first thing people notice about me:

I've often been told that people can 'see' how genuine, caring and giving I am and how I always keep a positive attitude. I always look at the glass as half full (although it's always full if you include air, right? LOL!)

Mmm...the first bit doesn't do it for me. If you can think of a story to relate, it may work (show the good characteristics, don't just tell me about them). I would just stick with the positive attitude - it's good, you got some humor in, and it's one thing.
Some additional information I want you to know:

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I look forward to meeting you. But you don't know who the referenced "you" is - reads as cookie cutter Life is too short and there are many things to do and see. I hope that we all are fortunate enough to share those times with that someone special. You made it this far, so what are you waiting for?

Meh. You didn't really say anything. It's all "hype" type language.
My interests

I typically spend my leisure time:

Leisure time is normally spent just nix this - why minimize enjoying? plus it doesn't read easily enjoying some down time drawing at Starbucks while enjoying the atmosphere or working on a new design or 3D project. "Summer time, however, means" would be grammatically correct/easier to read time spent in the arts district checking out the other artists and small shops. These are just a few things, you only do a few other things with your leisure time besides go to starbucks, work, and art stuff? I doubt it, but even if it's true, why say it like that?but you never know what I may see while driving down the road. I don't know what this means - if you mean that you like to be spontaneous and stop at events/fairs you pass, just say that. Things I think of on the side of the road: ducks, deer, skunk, scarlet women

The last book I read and enjoyed:

Writings of Robert Frost as well as the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe. I've enjoyed both since I was a kid and still do when time permits.
Ok - do you have a favorite poem in particular? maybe quote a line?
According to my friends:

My friends describe me as:

  • Genuine
  • Good Listener
  • Affectionate
  • Respectful
Notes above

Thank you Luna. That was the most descriptive and helpful review that I've ever seen or received. I'll post the revisions once they are completed.

Thanks again!

The one thing I am most passionate about: Art is something that I'm very passionate about and love to do. I always make time for it, acquire the things that I need to keep doing it and always smile when I talk about it.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is: The most important qualities would be passion and chemistry and I don't mean the "Honey!! I blew up the kitchen again!" kind. The other things I think are generated over time like reliability, friendship, trust and respect.
The most influential person in my life has been:

My late friend Joe was not only a remarkable man, but he was also a mentor, musician and my best friend. He taught me that no matter what time of day or what type of person you meet, you have the choice to treat them well and like family. He also taught me the importance of being grateful for those who have touched our lives and that it takes so much more effort to have a bad day than it does to turn it around and enjoy it. Some of his words I'll never forget: "There are a lot of things that will seem hard or impossible, but they are only as hard as you make them."
The three things which I am most thankful for:

I was told once by an acquaintance that she could tell I was a genuinely compassionate and giving person from what she knew of me from the office. She also mentioned how positive I am and that I always look at the glass as half full (although it's always full if you include air, right? LOL!)

This is MUCH better and should get you closer to contacts.

I would say your profile is fairly one-note though... art - art - art. Do you have any other hobbies or interests you could list?

Also, are you a "starving artist" or do you make a healthy living? That's one of the first concerns most have with artists.

It seems that my last post needed moderation, LOL! Not sure why, but I'm sure that it'll be posted with no issues.

Until then, I do have an update regarding contacts. I've exchanged a couple emails with someone in the film industry and it seems to be going great so far. It's only emails thus far, but it's going well and pretty frequent.

Great improvements made from your original profile. Two suggestions:

"The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

I have quite a list of artistic interests and normally not something that is seen right away." You already mentioned art, and I really like that you put art as what you're passionate about. Can you come up with anything else for this? Maybe a personality trait?

She also mentioned how positive I am and that I always look at the glass as half full (although it's always full if you include air, right? LOL!)" This is basically asking what is the first thing most people notice. Not "what is the first thing that one particular acquaintance noticed while working with me." Trimming it down makes more sense to me: "People notice how positive I am and that I always look at the glass as half full (although it's always full if you include air, right? LOL!"

I do have an abundance of artistic interests. I just didn't want to come across as impossible to match if that makes sense. Some of my other hobbies include graphic design, photography, writing music (I play guitar, bass, some drums and a bit of piano) and I'm also working on a film script and will be doing all the sets in 3D with live actors. The plan is to enter this short film in the Dallas Film Festival.

My day job though is more on the geeky side since I'm a front-end UX/UI designer/developer for a high profile company, coding in JavaScript, Ajax, PHPx and jQuery.

I'm just not sure how to add this all into the profile without sounding like it's too much.

Any suggestions?

This one honestly has me a bit stumped to be honest. I've never really asked what the first thing was people noticed about me.
