Hello, I am an Asain female who studies and worked in the US. I joined EH two months ago. I am a doctoral candidate-- I really don't think that the doctoral degree is so important and I don't want to scare men. On the other hand, Western men think that the stereotypes of Asian women are only stay-at-home housewives? (Am I right?) I hope to find the ONE who wants to know me as a person, not because I am a musician or a housewife (they would imagine), or an ambitious woman...Here is my profile, I would be greatly appreciated if you could give me some suggestions. Thank you very much!
The one thing I am most passionate about:
Art, music, family, faith, and life
The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
Gentle, patience, caring, generous, has a sense of humor, kindness, honesty, loyalty, dependable, good health, and well-educated. I am looking for someone who is serious about relationship, who is a good listener, and has strong faith in God. I am looking for a serious yet romantic relationship, a man who can spend the rest of my life with. I like a smart man who is a little talller than me, so that I can wear high heels (sometimes).

The most influential person in my life has been:
My parents have the most influence in my life. My teachers in music: gentle, kind, loving, caring, supportive, and encouraging students.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

I am thankful for everything God has given to me and my family everyday.
I am thnkful that there are so many Christian friends who pray for me and I appreciate for the love and care they have given me.
I am grateful I am able to live, love, and to be loved
Three of my best life-skills are:

Continuing to expand my knowledge and awareness
Being a good friend and companion
Keeping physically fit
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:
Sometimes I am a little shy although it's unnoticeable. Oh, I like to laugh!
The things I can't live without are:
vegetables and fruits.
hot water.
sunshine, I love sunshine!
faith.
music
Some additional information I want you to know:

I'm single and have not been married, nor do I have children. (Have I been waiting for someone?) I've been a student and have taught part time as a teacher and music has been my life, now I realize that the most important thing is to enjoy life fully. It really doesn't matter what I should do, be or not to do, be-because I don't know what my life is going to be like until I have found the person-people call soulmate (?) I hope to find the one who really knows me, so that we can share the life together.I am a city girl, simple, genuine, I'm not a sophisticated person, a little romantic---there is so much in life as in music.
I typically spend my leisure time:

I am interested in doing anything that is safe, pleasant, and light and fun. I also enjoy reading at home, hanging out with friends or chatting on the phone. Or simply staying at home doing nothing-- relax. The last book I read and enjoyed:
I am very interested in inspirational books recently.

First off....you need to post your entire profile to review. This is only about half your profile.

Post your personal info that is in profile too, occupation etc.
The one thing I am most passionate about:
Art, music, family, faith, and life

You should pick just one thing and explain why you are passionate about it. Better to not focus on family or religion though as people want to know about you.
Again you should pick just one trait you are looking for in a man and explain why. I would leave God and height out of this section.
The most influential person in my life has been:
My parents have the most influence in my life. My teachers in music: gentle, kind, loving, caring, supportive, and encouraging students.
This isn't real clear, your parents were teachers in music? If you are saying your parents are most influential then explain why. If it is your music teachers then take out the info about your parents.
The three things which I am most thankful for:

I am thankful for everything God has given to me and my family everyday.
I am thnkful that there are so many Christian friends who pray for me and I appreciate for the love and care they have given me.
I am grateful I am able to live, love, and to be loved
You listed God/religion twice, try combining them into one. Your third is pretty generic.
Three of my best life-skills are:

Continuing to expand my knowledge and awareness
Being a good friend and companion
Keeping physically fit
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:
Sometimes I am a little shy although it's unnoticeable. Oh, I like to laugh!
Maybe try: "Although I am friendly and laugh a lot I wish more people would notice that I am shy."
The things I can't live without are:
vegetables and fruits.
hot water.
sunshine, I love sunshine!
faith.
music
These work better as short answers rather then bullets. Explain why you can't live without them.
Some additional information I want you to know:

I'm single and have not been married, nor do I have children (are you wanting children? if not might omit).
This paragraph seems to ramble on. I would focus on the most important things in here and keep it as positive as possible. Focusing on your single status, never married, never had kids can come across as nesting syndrome and a bit desperate.

I typically spend my leisure time:

I am interested in doing anything that is safe, pleasant, and light and fun. I also enjoy reading at home, hanging out with friends or chatting on the phone. Or simply staying at home doing nothing-- relax.

This sounds like you never get out and do anything. List some things you like doing. What types of books you like to read, etc.

The last book I read and enjoyed:

I am very interested in inspirational books recently.

Give an example of one you read recently.

My friends describe me as:
Genuine
Easy-Going
Loyal
Passionate
My edits are above in red. You mention God and religion too much. One or two mentions should be sufficient. Needs more details.

Think you are also missing the section about what your friends say about you.

I must have missed the memo. I don't have that view of Asian women. There are a number of Vietnamese at my church and they are all doctors (MD) of some type, both the males and females.

I hope to find the ONE who wants to know me as a person, not because I am a musician or a housewife (they would imagine), or an ambitious woman...Here is my profile, I would be greatly appreciated if you could give me some suggestions. Thank you very much!
The one thing I am most passionate about:
Art, music, family, faith, and life
The question asks for ONE thing not a list. You can write a short paragraph about your artistic passions with an emphasis on music. Explain why the arts / music means so much to you. If you get your interest in music or your talents from your family then you can bring in that. Or if you use you music in church then you have a tie in to your faith.

I like a smart man who is a little taller than me, so that I can wear high heels (sometimes).
You have gone with a list here also. What is the ONE most important quality you are looking for in a person? Then tell me why.

The most influential person in my life has been:
My parents have the most influence in my life. My teachers in music: gentle, kind, loving, caring, supportive, and encouraging students.
Are your parents your music teachers? This is a bit confusing to me. And again with the lists. I like stories, tell me a story.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

I am thankful for everything God has given to me and my family everyday.
I am thankful that there are so many Christian friends who pray for me and I appreciate for the love and care they have given me.
I am grateful I am able to live, love, and to be loved

The things I can't live without are:
vegetables and fruits.
hot water.
sunshine, I love sunshine!

music
You can write sentences in this section.
Some additional information I want you to know:

I'm single and have not been married, nor do I have children. (Have I been waiting for someone?) I've been a student and have taught part time as a teacher and music has been my life, now I realize that the most important thing is to enjoy life fully. I don't think the concept in this section is bad but you have written it with a negative tone. You should re-write it with a positive spin.
I typically spend my leisure time:

I am interested in doing anything that is safe, pleasant, and light and fun. I also enjoy reading at home, hanging out with friends or chatting on the phone. Or simply staying at home doing nothing-- relax.

The last book I read and enjoyed:

Above in red. The words in your text that I have put in bold red were misspellings.

Thank you all for your advice!! Here is my revised one.

The one thing I am most passionate about:

I am most passionate about music. I hope to use my voice to bring more love and joy to people. Life is not just white and black, it has MORE COLORS. I want to be used by God and to use the musical talent HE gives me to serve people.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
I am looking for someone who has a kind and gentle heart, and a sense of humor. I am looking for a serious yet romantic relationship, a person who can spend the rest of my life with.

The most influential person in my life has been:
One of my music teachers, who is not only a great teacher but a wonderful person, someone I can always depend on. She is my role model in life: gentle, kind, loving, caring, and supportive.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

I am thankful that my parents always encouraged me to pursue my passions and dreams when I was a child.
My Christian friends and their love and prayers.
My higher education.

Three of my best life-skills are:

Continuing to expand my knowledge and awareness
Being a good friend and companion
Keeping physically fit
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:
Although I am friendly and like to laugh, I wish more people would notice that I am shy.

The things I can't live without are:
Fruits and vegetables.

hot water—I makes my stomach feel comfortable.
sunshine, I love sunshine! It brightens my day!
faith—I know that God loves me and my future is in his hands.
music—It enriches my soul.

Some additional information I want you to know:

I am single and have not married. Have I been waiting for someone? I've been a student and have taught part time as a teacher and music has been my life, yes, I enjoy every moment of my journey. Now I hope to find someone who can share and explore more enjoyment of life with me. There is so much in life as in music, don’t you think? It doesn't matter what I should do, be or not to do, to be-because I don't know what my life is going to be like until I found the person-people call a soulmate (?)I am a city girl, simple, genuine, I'm not a sophisticated person, a little romantic…. Isn’t it wonderful to grow old with the one you love?

I typically spend my leisure time:

When I have enough time, I enjoy cooking some simple Chinese food I like. Sometimes I go to the gym to work-out or go swimming; go shopping, hanging out, or eating at a restaurant with friends. As a musician, I practice a lot too. I used to practice yoga with a group of people when I lived in another city, now I practice yoga at home occasionally. I also enjoy reading or listening to music at home or chatting on the phone. Or simply staying at home doing nothing-- relax.

The last book I read and enjoyed:

I am very interested in inspirational books recently. I am reading KEYS TO THE ULTIMATE FREEDOM and haven’t finished it yet. The author indicates that everyone in the world is looking for happiness. What is happiness? How to achieve it? He shows you that achieving the ultimate freedom or happiness is to let go your ego. “Let go and let God”.

I'd add a word.
Singing.
I am most passionate about music. I hope to use my voice to bring more love and joy to people. Life is not just white and black, it has MORE COLORS. I want to be used by God and to use the musical talent HE gives me to serve people.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:
Although I am friendly and like to laugh, I wish more people would notice that I am shy.
Aw, cute!

The things I can't live without are:
Fruits and vegetables.

drinking hot water—I makes my stomach feel comfortable.
sunshine, I love sunshine! It brightens my day!
faithI know that God loves me and my future is in his hands.
music—It enriches my soul.
I'd reformat this list to make it consistent. The hot water and comfortable stomach bit is a little confusing. But if you really are a huge fan of drinking plain hot water, I suppose it doesn't hurt anything to say so.

Some additional information I want you to know:

I am single and have not married. Have I been waiting for someone? I've been a student and have taught part time as a teacher and music has been my life, yes, I enjoy every moment of my journey. This "what I should do be or not to do to be" almost sounds like you're bebop scat singing! I'd work on that part a little more.

I typically spend my leisure time:

When I have enough time, I enjoy cooking some simple Chinese food I like. Sometimes I go to the gym to work-out or go swimming; go shopping, hanging out, or eating at a restaurant with friends. I also enjoy reading or listening to music at home or chatting on the phone. Or simply staying at home doing nothing-- relax.

Maybe tune up the grammar/punctuation a little. Musician usually means you play an instrument. Maybe list which one you play or just say you practice singing.

The last book I read and enjoyed:

I am very interested in inspirational books recently. I am reading KEYS TO THE ULTIMATE FREEDOM and haven’t finished it yet. The author indicates that everyone in the world is looking for happiness. Excellent!

Nice profile. You definitely improved it from the first one. My biggest concern is that you are a doctoral student, yet it isn't mentioned here. Instead, it comes across like you're an aspiring professional musician who takes a lot of lessons.

Being a student later in life isn't a drawback at all! And a potential PhD, that's a plus. Guys love smart dedicated chicks. And the (rare) kind of man who would be intimidated by that is the wrong one for you. I mean, he is going to find out sooner or later!

All in all, your personality really does shine through. You come across as very sweet and lovable and I bet you'll get plenty of replies even if you don't make any more changes.

HelenDanger, thank you so much for correcting my profile, yes, I do get communications and I never initiated communications--that's just not me.

I've made some changes here:
The one thing I am most passionate about:

I am most passionate about music. Life is not just white and black, it has MORE COLORS. I want to be used by God and to use the musical talent HE gives me to serve people.

The things I can't live without are:
Drinking hot water (I enjoy simple pleasure in life)
Some additional information I want you to know:

I am single and have not married. Have I been waiting for someone? I've been a student and have taught part time as a teacher and music has been my life, yes, I enjoy every moment of my journey. Now I hope to find someone who can share and explore more enjoyment of life with me. There is so much in life as in music, don’t you think?
I don't know what my life is going to be like until I found the person-people call a soulmate (?) I am open to all new possibilities in life and willing to seek God’s plan. I am a city girl, simple, genuine, I'm not a sophisticated person, a little romantic…. Isn’t it wonderful to grow old with the one you love?
