I was wondering how many matches people get on average a month. Of those, how many of those actually viewed your profile? So far this month I have had 22 matches but only 6 views. That seems low to me considering my target area is the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding suburbs. This looks to be a high activity month for me too as I looked back through my archives and in April I had a total of 14 matches.

If you mean total matches, wouldn't it make more sense to ask the number per day or week? 40 per month is barely over 1 per day, so I think most people are going to fall in the 40+ category.

I agree that your numbers seem too low for a major metro area. Are your settings pretty restrictive?

are you being very specific with requirements? e.g. non smoker, christian, age 35 to 38, non drinker, within 30 miles.

I'd usually get between 2-7 per day. Not all of those were "live" though.

I was getting 2-7 per day, too. But, have hit a dry spell. I have received 1 match since Sunday. I guess there isn't anyone I am compatible with anymore. Very frustrating to be paying for a service and not receiving matches!!

I did find that when my sub was about to expire I got a lot more. Maybe being on the 3 month plan is the way to go. Month one: lots. Month tw: slowing but gives you time to breathe and catch up. Month three: more matches.

I was originally going to ask per week but I have weeks where I get none and others where I get 6. I rarely get matches daily, at most maybe 2-3 times a week. Once a week is more the norm I would say.

My radius is 60 miles. I get matches anywhere from 40-55 so think that is alright. I do have smoking nixed. Drinking is on once a week and set to very that is probably the problem right there. (I was married to an alcoholic so was rather gun shy when I filled this out) I set it to 5, will see if that makes a difference.

And I agree, with the amount of money I pay for this site I should be getting better results. I am on 3 sites and I get much better results on the other 2.

Two pieces of advice, okay maybe three....

1. One don't fool with your settings too frequently, word has it it confuses the computer.

2. You might try LOWERING your mileage...which seems counter-intuitive but I hear it forces the computer to bring up more local matches first. You also mentioned DFW, not sure about there but you might fool with your zip code...(to work for example) because that is what it uses to calculate mileage.

3. On the booze. That is what my settings were too. It will send you flex ones with more drinking anyway. I don't think you necessarily need to wiggle that yet.

When I was on EH, if I set my "drinking" preference to anything less than very high on the slider I would get all matches who drink "several times per week".

Now, this could mean that they enjoy a nice glass of wine every night with dinner... but looking at the Harley ridin', tattooed, blue-collar laborer types that EH would often send me, I really didn't think so.

I get about 8-9 a day. But I also end up closing all but one or two of them.
