One thing that I know it has done is that it has put a fork in all those posts who want to say that only about 15% of members are active. Probably about 80% of all the matches I have gotten have viewed their profile today or yesterday (and generally for several days in a row it continues to say that).

Now I am sure not all those people are actually paying members and they are probably just logging in to look at the profiles of their new matches but I think saying that about 60% of members are actually paying would be a pretty accurate statement..

I'm not sure about that. Every match I get, on the day I get the match says "Active Today". However, if I let that match sit for a day or so after looking at it, it will change to 1 week, 2 weeks, whatever.

why? nothing in your post would prove to me that 60% are paying! you are just guessing.

I read a few months back that someone looked up the accounts of EH and devided the number of subscribers they claim to have by their income and came up with a much smaller percentage.

You have to remember that 74.5% of all statistics are made up on the spot, and I have 24 scientific studies to prove that.

This is an important point. Just because someone is logging in, that doesn't mean they're a paying subscriber.

This is an important point. Just because someone is logging in, that doesn't mean they're a paying subscriber.
Yeah, I am not sure why people get so confused about this. I could log in every day, and have a constantly updated 'Active today' status, and never ever subscribe.

That's being generous. I think it's a small baby step in the wrong direction, albeit one they've been headed in for awhile now.

I have not been a paying member of EH for more than a month, yet I have still logged in every few days. I have been updating my online profiles on other sites, and I wanted to keep my EH profile consistent with those changes, rather than have to reinvent the wheel if I ever subscribe again to EH.

Plus, I like to go through my archive folder every once in a while and close out any matches that have already closed me.

None of that means that I am active and paying.
