Firstly, don't assume that everyone you are matched with is a "live" match. There are some dead profiles out there. They are people that either signed up for a free event and then didn't stop matching once they left the site or someone who may have been active in the past and decided to quite, but again, didn't turn off matching.

My eHarmony profile tells me how recently a match has been active. "Active Today;" "Active Yesterday." "Active within the last three weeks" (which probably means it's been more than two weeks).

You also need to give people some time to respond. Be realistic. Some people choose to only use the site on weekends. Others might be lookey loos and want to "think about it" before responding.

If I don't get a response, I assume they don't have a paid subscription and move on. Maybe those unanswering matches are gold-diggers or are holding out for a match with movie star looks? Either way, they are saving YOU grief in the long run by not replying.

So, take a look at who is looking at your profile after you send your first questions. Is anyone looking or are you not getting any action whatsoever? If no one is doing anything, you may need to contact Customer Care.

You may also want to look at your profile, your photos and reevaluate what you present to your matches. There is a thread at the top of this board with instructions on how to post your profile for a "peer review". Be aware that we can be very direct, but it is all with the best of intentions.

It's funny but i don't think we women discriminate against baldness in men the way men do it with less than thin women. I don't like that.

Actually this isn't true. I've read a few profiles where the lady says "no bald men" or a nasty comment in there profile that says "I [don't] like bald men" or "why is it there are no men over the age of 40 on this site who have a full head of hair". Bald men get abuse. Men with thinning hair get abuse.
