Submitted for review is my updated - but by no means final - draft of eH profile. The suggestions and input you folks have shared here have really made a difference! Special thanks to SkinsGiants fan, you've been so very helpful!

The one thing I am most passionate about:

My students' future. Many of them have very adverse circumstances at home and our high school is their only place of refuge. It's important to me to be there for them, whether attending their football game, seeing them act in a school play, staying after school to help with their reading, or just being available to listen when they're struggling in life. So many of these kids have so little, I want to support and encourage them in every way that I can.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:

Honesty. The trust between two people is the most important thing I can think of in any relationship.

Basic Information

Occupation: Education/Research
Age 45
Height 6' 1"
Wants Kids: Maybe
Kids at Home: No
Ethnicity White, non-Hispanic
Religion: Christian Drinks: A few times a year
Smokes: Never

In my own words

The most influential person in my life has been:

My Aunt Mary. From her I learned the priceless nature of having good character and integrity.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

  • My salvation
  • To have the family that I do
  • To have such caring friends

Three of my best life-skills are:

  • Creating romance in a relationship
  • Helping those who are less fortunate or in need
  • Communicating my innermost thoughts and feelings

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

Teaching isn't my identity, there are many other things about which I'm just as passionate. I keep a part-time position with the Walt Disney Company for something to do that's different, not so serious and just for fun, I go to school at night to continue learning, lots of neat stuff...

The things I can't live without are:

  • God
  • nature / the natural world
  • good books
  • art
  • good honey milk tea

The first thing people notice about me:

I have a very eloquent demeanor...

Some additional information I want you to know:

I'm looking for a long-term relationship and so tend to go slowly when getting to know someone new, even when the attraction is strong and I'd like to be closer to her. I'd like to take the time to develop the relationship and see if we're right for each other.

My interests

I typically spend my leisure time:

Taking a road trip, enjoying boba and music with friends, watching an indie film, seeing special art exhibits at the Getty Center, spending time in the Huntington Botanical Gardens, enjoying seats next to the dugout at the Dodgers' game, reading the latest book I found at Brookhurst, or just relaxing for the weekend in Santa Barbara...

The last book I read and enjoyed:

Pablo Neruda: Selected Poems edited by Nathaniel Tarn, it's a collection of the poetry Neruda composed during his lifetime. What I like most about it is the intensity of his passions and the color of his world conveyed so vividly through his words.

According to my friends:

My friends describe me as:

  • Affectionate
  • Loyal
  • Thoughtful
  • Intelligent

It's a great profile Scott. I wouldn't change a thing.

BTW I saw your rant thread -- you need to hang in there. I think you will find a great relationship, just let the disappointing experiences roll off your back. This profile should serve you well!
